Be sure the Yellow LED by the ATX Board header lights up. Do the EZ Start up procedure. After you've let go of the 5 second RESET hold, you Should get a Double Post, but only Monitor Sync after you hear the second post. If you're alive here, power off & install Stick 2 in slot 1 & just turn it on. If it's dead, turn it off, take out the working Slot 3 Dimm & put the one u just tried in slot one into Slot 3. Then power on. If this is ok, repeat with the last stick into slot 1 again. If it kills it, the board aint right cos u just prooved BOTH sticks work in either channel but not with both together. I had to do this with board #2 & it lasted 3 days @ stock voltages.
Needless to say, if you're still dead, it has to be either the board or it fried your ram whilst it was in Spec voltages. Personally from what I've seen here & your explanation of it all your end, your board has rolled over & died!
Get on to NE & get your ass back in here asap!

Good luck nealh, All the best,

Hey guys, forgive the horrible noobishness about to spew forth, but how the heck do I adjust the cpu multiplier? (Running a xeon 3060, once I get the board tweaked it'll all go in the sig) I was sure the Conroe P state Multiplier was the option to change, but no dice... Set to 7 in bios, once I get into windows cpu-z and and AMD manager both read it as 9.. What am I missing?

Also, I seem unable to push past 369 on the fsb, it works fine, but 370 and up and I bluescreen or reboot before getting to windows.

Try some settings that others have used. Nemesis posted a great chart of what worked for him.

Conroe P-STATE Multiplier is how you change the multi.

Thanks for the link, about the multiplier though.. no other option needs to be set before the conroe p multiplier takes effect? Because, in Bios, like i said, it shows up as 7, what I set it to, but once I get to windows, everything reads it as still being 9...

well the board's quality control sure seems suspect to me ..alot of C1 issues

How can a board not have its CMOS cleared...never seen a bios get corrupted by making a change like I did..nothing extreme and board goes belly up

why market it to people who will tinker and have a board so fragile it craps out...I paid a premium for the board at launch...6weeks later it is dead..now I have to RMA and hope for a reliable board

I was very careful not to push too much voltage or what I thought were not too tight of 1:1 settings....

oh well..I paid a premium to newegg to get the mobo...so at least they have excellent CS...

Don't wanna sound cheeky nealh, but I guess providing the Replacement board is a Live one... you're gunno go for 1:1 with a lower FSB, like a safe 340 and work your way up!?

I wouldn't blame ya for not wanting to tbh! By the time my 3rd arrived, I was beyond caring & now crave for a "smoke out" on any next-death scenario. Got a pointy-click camera ready just in case!

*Edit* Nice Chart from Nemesis..hadn't picked up on that with shallow trawling.

Just messing with a bit of watercooling now.

These settings are working quite stable for me. More testing will continue.

I did actually, just temporary as I didn't have any screws long enough to attach them correctly. Still works though.

Flip the fans so they Suck thro' the Rad, as opposed to blowing. This will help reduce the Dead Zone immediately behind the centre of the fan.

Nope no more 1:1 ..IMHO this board is not made for it..way too finicky and fragile...

I will try to get back to 3500(9x 390):500 ram..and be done tweaking and screwing around

I just fear how voltage may need to be tweaked again..so ticked, i should have done as I promised myself...stopped and been happy

I did enjoy tinkering because the board seemed OK and it was interesting to see the effects....

But I am convinced it is just not up to be stressed much in any fashion

I may try a new bios if they but one out officially

currently @ 3.5GHz (390*9) at 1.4V set in BIOS, everything else at stock, dual orthos 14+hrs stable (and that's dual for stressing all the memory) and I'm very happy with it.
But anything over 400MHz FSB is getting unstable, with all voltages raised, I'll have to explore this... I'll be tweaking mem. later, here a screenshot of the benching:
    DFI ICFX3200 07/30 w/ MCW30
    E6600 L632A407 w/ EK Supreme
    Powercolor HD3870 w/ MCW60
    OCZ Reaper 2x2GB CAS4
    WD Caviar Black 1TB
    Silverstone Strider 750W
    MM U2-UFO Extended CYO
    CPU & NB loop = PA120.3, DDC 18W w/ Petra's top, 7/16''
    VGA loop = PA120.2, DDC 18W w/ Petra's top, 7/16''
    10 fans on 7V, PX-750A, all on SM 930BF

Thanks for the link, that allowed me to break the fsb limit I was facing before, but I really need to drop the multiplier before I push the fsb higher. As I mentioned, even though the Conroe P multiplier is set to 7 it's acting as 9. Only possible thing I can think of is it being a side effect of using a Xeon.. But I have yet to find anyone else encountering the issue.

Be very careful with Syncing memory on this board

I really think this is a bad thing and stress the chipset way too much...until a bios is released priven to work in sync mode...beware

I ran sync mode 4 time on my mobo...literally 4 times...the last one at lowest setting 380 1:1 ..killed it

I have no idea why or how

that's not sync, memory is just waiting on MB stock to be tweaked, I have no reason to run it at sync.

@erwinz:thnx man, my w.c. setup is in my sig, I'm planning on putting a HR-05 on the chipset, but I'm not going to watercool it.

btw. got 3.6GHz stable, going to bench 3.7GHz, I'm not stopping before I get into the 4GHz club

Sorry, all of your settings look fine, I'm not sure what would cause the problem.
