Thumbs up OCZ XTC Memory Cooler

    Got this baby today.

It looks awesome. The mounting is pretty sloppy, it wiggles around very easily but really, unless you're touching it all the time or moving the case around a lot, it's fine. Fans are not that quiet on 12v. Bareable but not really quiet but then again my noise tolerance is very low I'm running mine at probably around 8v (fanmate 2) and can't here it above nexus yate loons @ 1k rpm.

    Anyway, on with the pics!

    Be patient with Imageshack..

Packaging: (the finger cutting stuff )

    The Cooler:

    Installed:

    Beautiful LEDs:

    It looks so sexy

Oh, and there's about 0.5cm clearance between the graphics card pcb and components etc.

It seemed to helped with higher voltages slightly over a single 80mm fan. Before, my ram wouldn't take 2.34v very well but now with the XTC it seems that 2.34v actually has an improvement over 2.29v.

Nope, I just had to be careful that I didn't knock anything off my GTO lol.

Packaging says 3000rpm/16cfm x2 (per fan).

    Oh, and thanks

By looking at it, is it easy to cut the wires that light up the LEDs? Not my kinda thing, but I do want this memory cooler which would be good for me since the VRMs on my mobo are right next to the memory slots.

There are no wires to cut. The LEDs are on those 4 blue little pcb things sticking out of the centre. You can (probably) just unsolder the small black resistor on each of those 4 bits of pcb to unplug the LEDs. Or unsolder the actual LEDs which are right at the ends.

Or just buy replacement 60mm fans without LEDs (your best choice since you could buy some thicker ones)

Ah OK, thanks for the quick answer. I didn't look at the pictures as closely as I should have.

I'll pick one up and probably just crush the little LEDs.

Hahahaha! I thought I was the only one that did this! All my friends give me hell for destroying LED fans.

Nope, you're definately not. I cut all the leds in my Hiper Type-R 580w because the damn thing was disturbing my sleep

Looks really decent for the price

I wonder when a company will use an radial fan for a RAM cooler though. Makes a lot of sense seeing the shape of RAM modules.

Looks like a great product--except the grill is way too restrictive. That's really unfortunate because its finished so nice, but I'd still cut it up.

I'm working a mounting a radial blower to my little super talent RAM clip.

Anyone know if these are available in the states? These would be alot better than my 2 fans standing ontop of my vcard.

That looks like a nice bit of kit thanks for the images/review lawrywild, hopefully they'll come back into stock soon. It looks a lot sturdier than the plastic crap I've seen before, like the thing stuck to the fatality board iirc?

It's nice and all, but some of us have been using home made versions that work better for some time
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.
