    P5B-DLX and G.skill DDR 800"HZ" ram question

    anyone have this combo, and did It boot the first time, or did you have to use a cheap stick of ram to get it to post? Thank you

    I ve got that combo.

    It doesnt require anything to get it posted.
    The default 1.8V is enough to boot, and to run 400MHz.
    My PC:
    - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (9x 333),
    waiting at cpu waterblock for OC
    -2GBHZ G.Skill Dualchannel@ 333@ 1.9V
    -Asus P5B Deluxe, no mods
    -2x raptor 74gb (8mb) RAID0
    -8800GTS @ stock
    -Creative Soundblaster Audigy SE
    -Zalman 460W-APS

    what DDR frequency to I use for 1:1 ratio?

    the lowest frequency if you oc. so if you oc 400fsb then lowest frequency be 800. default 533. so 1:1 ratio is x2 the fsb.

    Sorry, but I dont understand. I know in my DS3's BIOS, If I set the DDR freq. @ 2:1 Im locked in at a 1:1 ratio. What setting in the P5B's BIOS means using a 1:1 ratio?

    Select the lowest DDR2 option. I believe its DDR2-533. I'm at work right now so I can't check. I made the mistake of selecting DDR2-800 then overclocking, was getting all kinds of problems because that is not 1:1.

    DDR= 2x?

    so, instead of 1:1 , 2:1. In real it is the same. Nothing to worry.


    Core2duo= 266 >>>>> x2= 533 (x 8) = PC4200 (actually it is pc4300) = 1:1
