Just kidding of course. I wonder how far we will be able to push the new X6850?

Oh, is that all? vPro is technology better suited for businesses. And I think most people here disable Virtualization Technology in the bios.

i dont like the idea of these chips at all, theyre higher stock fsb, so theyre lower max multi, thats not what we need... i am looking forward to the 4xxx series alot more than the 6x50...

The E4300 still looks like an interesting budget chip with a nice high multi

High multiplier CPU's are generally not desired by overclockers. They often won't hit high FSB. Most Intel users here love high FSB.

That was the case with old Pentiums when it was impossible to change the multiplier right now higher multiplier is preferred, gives you more options and larger headroom with low end mobos

Chips tend to overclock to the highest FSB using a certain multiplie, which is often the stock multiplier. It has yet to be figured out why this is the case.

The point is with your low end mobo (less than 100$) + E4300 running @ 3xx X 9 you can easily hit 2.8GHZ much easier than E6300 running @ 7X400and still if your board can go higher you can lower your multi

Well, that's the whole point of my post. What if your E4300 overclocks like crap with the lower multies? You loose some system performance when you are forced to use a high multi for a good overclock. I'm not saying I'm not buying the E4300, it's a great CPU. And I have the cooling for 9X4**+

Dude we arguing in a close loop I am talking about crappy 945 based mobo that will barely do 320fsb and your are talking about P5b and DS3 the idea is to get cpu+ mobo combo for about 220$ and run @ core 2 extreme speed

    Relax man

You are right, for such a setup the E4300 is truly awesome.

Well what is a high FSb if the internal timings are way worse than with lower FSB settings.
I will be using it as cheap cruncher in my P5W, and that board is limited at a little over 450FSb, so the higher the multiplier the better
If you want a high fsb, just lower the multi.

right the max we can get on the 1066 strap is the best fsb, so if your 975 does 450, then 450 is the fsb you want, your multi then needs to match your max mhz on your cpu. It's nice running 500fsb on the p5b but when performance is better at 400 then whats the point right?

The lower multi on the 6850 shouldnt matter as the cpu will probably be unlock anyways.

i don't think that E6850 will have unlocked multi as it is an E and not X

and if this is true, it's just a E6600

I'm finding it hard to differentiate between E4300 and E2160.
