We're going to be out of the office for the US Thanksgiving Holiday for the next few days, but we'll be back next Monday, and we'll get you a replacement for those as soon as possible.

If you want to talk to me personally, PM me and I'll tell you how to set up an RMA so you can get that stuff replaced as fast as possible.

The 9136 part is a C5 part, and an upscale version of the 8500C5.

The fastest part we sell is still the 8888C4DF, which overclocks faster than 9136 with the latency at CAS5 and a board that can do faster, but of course, it costs more, as well.

Thanks for the reply and offer of help, someone on another thread says its the board and not the ram, he said he went through three boards until he got one that did not give him a C1 error I hope this is not a trend with the 680i boards.

I will try and get another MB at frys on Friday but not another 680i and see if this is true. But then again with all the crazy shoppers out there for the black friday sales I may not find a place to park

One more question this C3D is good ram right? Some people ask me why I would buy low latency ram for a high bandwidth board, and I tell them I do mild overclocks and not looking to brake any speed records. I have seen another person on this vary forum reach high overclocks with C3 ram.

Thank again Redbeard for the help and taking the abuse you did over the last couple of days I believe you are just seeing the frustration of folks who want to buy your ram but can not find it. I know I was one of them

I will send you PM, and have a nice turkey day

I also had a girl on here PM me about the C1 error and she said that BFG support said it was a good idea to RMA it. Fortunately I have 975 board here for testing in case I think it is a board issue.

you cant expect them all to, otherwise they would just start selling cas 333 900 mhz ram. luck of the draw with that kinda thing, just like with videocards, CPUs and anything else you wanna run out of spec.

I had a C1 error and yanked the Gskill 6400 NR out of my HTPC that specs at 1.9v and it booted right up. changed voltage to 2.1 and re-installed my HZ. Booted Fine then. i know this is corsair thread but that was my experience with the C1 issue.

ok, then can you garauntee that every single one of them will do that?

    cause that was the question.
not if some can do it.
    if allllllllll can do it.

cause I said that clearly, some will do it, but not all.

Yeah, I see the need for the 8888C4 part, since it's Corsair's flagship, and obviously is superior to the 8500C5. But like I said, many people with 8500C5 should be able to hit 9136 at 5-5-5-15 with a bump in voltage. It's 1066MHz to 1142MHz. Doesn't seem like a huge performance increase to justify binning out better ICs to sell a new part that'll run at stock reliably. But to each his own, I guess. Corsair makes a damn lot of money off their high end stuff, and hats off to them.

Well I installed the 8500C5D pair and it booted right up, so the C3DF is bad for sure, for a minute there I thought it was the 680i.

I am sure all TGX 6400 c3 stuff will do that, it is just a matter of what voltage is needed, and clearly running ~2.5v+ isn't under warranty.

That's why the IC Inquiry Thread is there @ HoH (Redbeard linked to it earlier), because it does happen. People keep assuming that version # is directly tied to the IC, which it isn't! If it was, they wouldn't ask for the combination of part # / version # / lot # to correctly identify what IC they have.

The best thing for all is to buy ram that is already proven...ie. corsair 6400c3 which priced accordingly. Even in $400 ish price range you have plenty of choices from other brands.

For sub $400 then you have to do more works to find data/price/review or ask the vendor/manufacturer.

If you not sure, don't hit the buy button.

Yeah but the problem is that some people don't have money right away to buy let's say a good Micron ram.Not the best Micron based but a Micron that can do good clocks at 4-4-4 and have to wait for a couple of months(2) to buy the ram( a quality ram)for thoose who prefer quality over quantity) and when it comes to the grand total, they gathered all the money and finaly they can get the ram they were hungering for over this months they find out(in the best case) that the ram they want to buy is now equiped with some lousy chip that can barely hit ddr900 at 5-5-5 .So what would you do?Wouldn't you go for Teamgroup who uses Micron constantly?Or would you go for a ram that teases you with some killer chips and when you end up in the shop you end up angry. But there are some people who live in places that doesn't have a great shop that can afford to have in stock dozen's of 200$ rams just so the buyer can select them. There are shops that only bring on order and who don't do revision stuff they bring the model you want. Then you have to buy sleeping pills cause you cant sleep because your wondering that will the Corsair I'm getting tomorrow be Micron based or some cheap-o-crap Elpida or smthn. And like someone said why only the parts change and not the price?I bet on it that Micron is more expensive then Elpida.Maybe you can do something about this revisions and keep it to a good one.You have to think that not many people give 200$ on memory that they wont overclock so you have to keep em' scalable. You can't just overclock em' to the max and sell em' very expensive.

Yes you do. You definetely do.

I can assure you I would sell my 6400C3s and be all over that ram if it ever came out.

I am running 1333 FSB, getting that kit would be bliss. Especially at C4... man I would buy that ram if it was C5, but C4 just makes it even better.

    nice review
I like the mem, but it's a waste of money. It's very expensive mem, but you can buy a kit of D9 chips(ebay or in store) and it goes exactly that hard, i think even harder..

Mine refuse to clock about DDR2-1112 on my 680i board, board is stable latest release of bios and it was purchased to run at LEAST DDR2-1142 which it won't. This ram was supposedly tested and exclusively made for 680i chipset boards but works in others but guaranteed 1142 on 680i

Not happy after $500 more invested in Corsair

Pentium, keep in mind our memory WILL run its rated speeds or we will replace it. With all the 680i OCing info here hopefully you can get it sorted. If you find it is the memory holding you back, let me know.

My maximum OC of 9136C5D is 1280MHz super stable at 15-5-5-5. But what type of IC is used on it?

Much appeciated tough to know if it is the board or not possibly dividers running unlinked etc. I have some more testing to do but seems DDR2-1112 works good and it is running 5-5-5-18 (optimal auto selected)

I have a 6700 coming in tomorrow replacing my 6600 so my FSB will change and thus my memory speeds as well, I'll do more testing this weekend.
