Mine are V. 1.2 not v.2.1 like those of DerekT. They were assembled in July 2006, and yet from reading these forums and others: the Dominators are fast sellers; and they can't keep up with the demand! I wonder if mine ( bought a week ago) are not refurbished/returns? I don't know what to make of it (old Version, 5 months old...)
I'd suggest either RMA, or take advantage of the "swap" and get the 8500C5D

According to the IC list your modules are "probably" Micron based. However, I cannot be sure without knowing your lot and revision number from the stickers on the modules. Check your sticker info and have a look here: IC Inquiry Thread.

If you need help troubleshooting the system, I would be glad to help you. Also, your MOBO is becoming more popular so you may get some good info at the ABIT FORUMS.

SANDRA misled me... I had to get one module out to be sure They are V. 2.2
...or maybe there is a double label ID: stamped internally as: V.1.2, and the outside Sticker as: V.2.2.
Since SANDRA can't see the sticker... the question is: which one is correct?

Well, now that I have the firestix...anyone have any timings they suggest for the 680i motherboard?

It doesn't come close to having as many choices as my old motherboard: DFI Venus.

    Choices are:
    tCL
    tRCD
    tRP
    tRAS
    CPC
    tRRD
    tRC
    tWR
    tWTR
    tREF
    Async Latency

Suggested timings for ddr800 would be good...ddr1000 would be great also.

Oh, and should I be using linked or unlinked?

    Thanks

2.3v and from top to bottom at DDR2-800 try 3-4-4-8 (above stock timings, but should be doable with 2.3v). AT DDR2-1000 try 4-4-4-12 same voltage.

from top to bottom only change the first 4 settings (set async memory if you want to run your memory at a different speed than FSB). I don't have a 680i so I can only tell you these settings.

Hello mates, I've been testing my Dominators 6400c4D with these results:

    - 450 FSB (4-4-4-8) @ 2v (2.15 selected on bios);
    - 500 FSB (5-5-5-15) @ 2.1v from the board (auto voltage/timming on bios).

For sub timmings I use 4-30-0-10-5-10 on my P5B-Deluxe.

I've noticed that my board has an undervoltage om the V-Dimm of nearly 0.15v, so if I choose 2.15v on the bios it feeds the mems with 2v.

    I've been using 400x9 @ 4-4-4-4 and now I'm at 450x8 @ 4-4-4-8. what about 500x7 @ 5-5-5-15? What would it be the best option?

    Best wishes

    Jorge

Bench some bandwidth tests and see which setting yields the best result (everest, sandra)

Or simply doing Superpi runs at different settings gives you a quick picture of how effective/fast your ram is. If you've found the fastest, check for its stability.

For DDR2, stay below 2.4v and have some active cooling on ram, you'll be fine. Find the best configuration under those conditions.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll do those tests then.

For what I know about SuperPi, lower results come with the fastest cpu speed stable and the thightest timmings. This way I'll try 400x9 @ 4-4-4-4 and 450x8 @ 4-4-4-8.

    Best wishes.

    New Update!

I've managed to do a Super Pi 8M at 480x8 w/ 4-4-4-4 with 1.425v on Cpu and 2.3v on the mems, is this Promos alike?

    Best wishes.
