Gotta agree on that! And they should have sleeved all the cables.

I like the odd colored PSU personally.

The same old Black PSU's get old after awhile.

I say so. The single 60A rail is very attractive.

Clearly the Silencer is not in the same ball park as the Turbocool line in operating temperature or voltage regulation. Turbocool is the best and if you want it, you must pay top dollar.

i'm sure if you ordered from PC P&C and gave them a call, they'd be able to throw 2 more PCI-E connectors on it - people have sent in their 510-Deluxe PSU's and had them converted to 510-SLI for a small price... so they might be willing to solder 2 extra 6-pins onto the PCB (*shrug* its worth a try)

    Noise

On a 600w load, does the silencer start to get a bit noisy?

the loudest its supposed to get under full load is 35dba IIRC... not loud, but distinguishable above other quiet fans

PC P&C makes a quad SLI capable 750EPS unit.

    try here:
    http://www.pcpower.com/products/view....php?show=S75Q

as for them being good power supplies, they're exceptional. the "turbocool" series isn't "better" but different. *shrug* can't go wrong.

the Turbo-Cool series has 1% line regulation, and is made by PCP&C themselves... while the Silencer series has 3% line regulation and are OEM Seasonic units

needless so say, the silencers still kick ass... nothing is a better value when it comes to a high end PSU

The Turbocools are built for PC P&C by Win-Tact, which is what makes them so expensive... W-T is a smallish outfit

Dave beat me to it, but PC P&C now has the Quad 750EPS. SLI Certified for 2x8800GTX with 4 PCI-E connectors.

Also, Dave is not joking when he says they run out of Black 750's. I ordered a 750 (only copper available online), all was well. I then called them to change it to black since they don't have a comments section on the site, and the order got delayed about a week/week and a half.

With that said, I can't wait to get this monster!

I was trying to figure out whether you can buy PC P&C in Europe, but their website does not seem to acknowledge the existence of any emerging markets.

I recall seeing their products at a Belgian website a few years back, then the price was double or triple compared to the U.S.

Is anybody aware of any PC P&C distributors in Europe?

Thanks Dave. I'll take 3. Maybe save a bit in shipping costs.

It should also save you a little cash. I think i got mine for like $180USD or so.
I'm thinking of making that Seasonic 700w my upgrade PSU if I get something like a 680i (SLI) motherboard down the road. I know what P&PC cooling says about the modular connections but I just really prefer a modular PSU. For example since my current system is so stripped down (1 hard drive, etc) I literally barely use any of the extra cables that came with my PSU.

You need 4 PCI-E connectors (so called quad SLI compatible) to run only 2 8800 GTX's?

If that was the case then I might consider the P&PC 750 Quad if I get a 680i board.

PCP&C do ship internationally if you buy directly from them.

I have an old 510 deluxe but to upgrade it so it got the ASL connectors (24 pin and 8 pin contacts) it would be very expensive...

I got a 510 ASL after that which is pretty much the same but much quiter. Anyway it broke on me after a year approx so I am now going to try Silverstones PSU:s
    Coolermaster Stacker
    Silverstone 850 zeus
    Core 2 duo E6600
    Asus Commando
    2x1 gb team xtreme
    Leadtek 8800 GTX
    X-Fi ELITE PRO
    2X WD Raptors
    2x WD 500 KS

Laing DDC 2 pump with petra tech top
    12 mm tubing
    Apogee and MCW60
    Microres reservoir
    MCR330 triple rad and radbox.

Another vote for the PC P&C Silencer 750.
Mine is VERY Quiet.. I switched from a noisy FSP 700W.
Exhaust temp runs about 2-3 deg C higher than the FSP (Not hot at all though).... and the FSP has a 120mm fan...
Also a nice touch is the 14 AWG line cord..

The FSP 700 produced the loudest noise in my system!
Since I replaced it with the 750, I can now finally say I have a Quiet PC!
I think you won't be sorry.. I'm very happy with mine..
    Good Luck!

    Squealing 750

Like several others I decided the Silencer 750 was the best deal out there and I really liked the single 12v rail...

Unfortuantely I am having problems with TWO of them. Bought one from Newegg and long story short, it produces a very pronounced (and annoying) electrical whine under load. This only happens when a 3D load is applied (rthridbl and 3dm03 are the worst...there are practiaclly sound effects going on during 3dm03). Just running Orthos on C2D@3.85 its ok, but when I add the 8800 load into the mix its unbearable.

Contacted Newegg for RMA, ordered another one (I kept the original until next one arrived) Second one has same problem, if not worse.

I have tried everything from different wall outlets to disconnecting fans, pumps, etc. anything at all that might be generating EMI.

Called PCP&C and talked to tech. James who was very cool and understanding. He was familiar with 8800s, etc. He said they have sold 1000s and have had no reports of problems. The serial numbers on the two units I have are about 2500 apart so its hard to say this is just a fluke. He sugested I send it in to PCP&C to take a look at. I will most likely do that, but it has been frustrating so far.

On a positive note, the rails under load are rock steady and only the 12v rail budges by about .01v under load.
I just set up a machine using a Silencer 750w purchased in early April from PC P&C. It’s whining and squealing under 3D load. Running a E6600 @ 3.65 and one 8800 GTX @ stock, with 4 HDs and a couple optical drives. Rails are solid, but the noise is unacceptable.

LexDiamonds, how did your situation finally turn out? Did you get a good replacement?
