Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was
Never damaged any RAM.
But even with the same SPD i can't manage the 500MHz 4-4-4-x on the OCZ, so it was a bit useless to be honest..

Is RD600 chipset supported for flashing SPD using spdtool ?

Guys this is a great tool.
But I have to say I am not comfortable using it.
What I would love is for the drop down menu to reflect the timins I see in BIOS or memset when tweaking.
as in options like change ras-cas from 16 to 15.
I have 2x 1GB OCZ PC8000 XTC and 2x 1GB PC6400 XTC (vanilla not titaniums) - but as I am running a P5WDH board I have to rely on spd timings to break the 400mhz barrier on the FSB.
The SPD suxxorz on these sticks but they do run nice when u tweak them.
I take on board what peeps say abotu voltages etc - these wil run 5-4-4-18-28 - if someone could provide me with a spd timing for these at 400mhz as above it wouldbe fantastic.
So far though a very impressive piece of kit.
this app worked wonderful - reprogrammed the spd on the pc2700 modules in my laptop - so i've got pc3200 2,5-3-3-7 for free.

An invaluable tool for tweaking ram on systems where you can't change timings, (or all of them). I'm kind of tempted to try and see if I can do better than 4-4-4-11 533mhz on my laptop (memset trials first of course)

I have a pair of ram right now that won't boot at 6-6-6. 5-6-6- works but 6-6-6 is no post. The board in question is a p5b vanilla. I looked in the spd information and saw that allowable cas settings were 3, 4, and 5. Would modifying the spd to allow cas6 work? Or is this a board limitation? Once in windows, I can use memset30 to adjust cas from 6-8 without issue. Not like I'd want to live with having cas6 but just for purposes of seeing what it'll do

I think Cas 6 not necessary include SPD. I think mobo limitation. Because I use rams , what spd no include cas 5, but works well ram with mobo, if I setup cas 5.Originally Posted by ziddey

Is it possible to add support for 5000x chipsets to adjust fb-dimm spd. I desparately need to relflash my fb-dimms to lower speeds as dividers and timings are set at post and are not adjustable within bios or windows.
When I load spdtool it just says "No memory modules found. Incompatible SMBUS driver?"
Perfect tool to help fix my ram clocks on my DS3. It's incredibley difficult to change the sub timings in bios since it was written with incorrect values. Lets say you try to set TRRD to 4 in bios, it will give you 7 or 8 when you check with memset (you know how when you set voltages with the DS3 it gives you +.1v +.2V ect.? Well that's what they were supposed to do with the ram sub-timings but instead screwed it all up!)
PQI also screwed up with the TRFC SPD, instead of elpida's recommended 105ns they programmed it to 60ns, which is too tight.
Hehe I could actually change the SPD to do 400mhz 4-4-4-12, works fine for me with 1.8v! I can actually boot 400mhz 3-4-3-10 @ 1.8v and run STABLE! But... I'm not that stupid to actually do it!

I want to change mine to 5-4-4-16

Can someone explain to me how exactly I would change (downl clock) my rams rating to 667 max speed? I need to do this on 4 sticks for posting at bios default problems. Also, can I do them all together (one at a time) or do I need to boot each one separately first?

i just want to ask, where can i purchase external SPD flasher?

It's not a board limitation, thats for sure. Remember you can't change cas with memset within windows
I don't see any reason why you couldn't at the cas 6 support. If it didn't work I highly doubt it would screw your ram anyways, as long as your SPD doesn't set to cas 6 by default.

Any way of recovering RAM? My Patriot DDR2-800LLK stops PC from booting.
Anybody tried booting windows with working RAM and then inserting another stick of RAM into empty slot, so it could be accessed with SPDTool?

I think that's a RAM tester.

But my German is not so good.
i'm a total noob at this so could anybody explain how i recalculate the timings since SPDtool uses timing in ns. how do ram timings correspond to timing in ns?
because i have these PC2-3200 sticks that do 533mhz but wont boot since my BIOS support only starts at PC2-4200.
i plan to increase the frequency and lower the timing.
possible it would be really nice to just add a PC4200 profile to these sticks
help is greatly appreciated
