for the cost of that, I'd build a rack full of,well, you know!
get more per day and at a far lesser cost.
And as much as I hate to say this, that system that NJKID just put together for DDT has excellent output. 7K+a day..The anti Intel factor in BOINC I'm afraid..BUT nothing beats a dual clover for output for cost especially when the cpu's can be bought reasonable. Did you see what they want retail for them? $1400.00 each..

Movieman is right. 20 E6600 @3.6 systems will outscore this monster and cost less to build, though with much higher electricity consumption. Besides, who would want 52 dB under the desk?

That dual Opty rig is not done yet. It should be doing 8K+ when Eric finishes ocing it. And it will outproduce my E6700 rig which cost you guys a little more.

That thing would be sweet as hell. Just because I could put it under my desk and not have 20 systems spread about

At my office I have the power of 30 DXs, 24 DCs, and a few more P4s at the keyboard of my P4 3.0 HT desktop, through remote desktop. If I only knew how to cluster them it would be even better.

Your 100% right, it did cost a little more. It's purpose wasn't to send the best cruncher, but to send you something we thought you'd have a little fun with and just to say thanks for all you've done over the years for XS and a lot of the people in it and to say how we felt about you.
Sending you a high end cruncher would be like buying your wife a vacumn cleaner for her birthday.
    Maybe usefull, but totally inapropriate.

Now next week we'll get to show you bang not for the buck, but from one board. You said once that your interest was based on space limitations.
This one I think you'll like.
