top score on orb for similar systems

not too shabby for a lowly gx2 and e6600 on p5b

Thanks to the help of everyone here and elsewhere

still trying for a bit higher before going to 8800's

    thanks...it's been a long road...

I've been playing wih a little twaek that I discovered. It seems that it might help overcome some of the latencies that get setup when you boot a p5b and maybe a p5w at higher fsb's I am at around 500 fsb.

It is almost so obvious, that I assumed that probably everyone was doing the same thing, sort of like running super pi in realtime.

But now I look back at some of the users and setups with faster cpu's and yet they have lower scores than me, and I am starting to think that maybe it isn't so obvious.

I ran super pi with and without it and it took between a quarter and half a second off of my 1m score as well, when in reality, considering the type of tweek, it shouldn't have affected it that much.

I will play with it some more, and see if a pattern emerges.

So far, I think I gained at least 200 3dm06 points with the tweak.

If it turns out to be something that most don't do, I'll share, but not till I am through testing

I just can't imagine why my scores have gone up so much higher than others with the same card and probably the same vmods and/or cooling.

do you have some details about clocks /vmods/cooling of the video/enz

did realtime often but most of the time it helps a little, same as starting /stopping/ starting of 2005 , that gains a few hundred points too.

just passed the 11k overhere with gx2 stock cooling no mods
cpu score is a bit higher
    for you to compare

vmods came from vr-zone...I am using the 1.65volt mod...tried the 1.5 and 1.55 first.

i have several xfx cards. the current one is the oldest and has samsung memory. it will not take more than 1.995v or screen flickers badly.

i am using the danger den water cooling kit.

At 1.55v idle was 39c...full load sustained for a while was 49-50c

Now, at 1.65v, idle is between 40 and 42c...full load 57c

stock, this card hit 75-80 when oc'd

I don't use realtime, in that I have had lower scores with it. I was just comparing what i am doing to realtime with respect to how obvious my latest tweek seems to be.

btw you have a nice cpu clock...either a better chip than mine or better cooling. I am using a week 29 w/tock vapochil ls...and you? mobo?

I assume that the tweak a no brainer, but I could be wrong...!!! ??? Sometimes it stares right a you and you don't see it

this is a week 28B123 and running with solid copper container with liquit nitrogen. those chips do a 4500-4600 on phase (mach II)
the 5ghz is rock stable more is possible but not realy 3d stable, motherboard is asus p5b

i thougt you would have used a spacer , but like this it is possible too
i was thinking to get a spacer and some vmods and better cooling , but the spacer is not avalible in europe, maybe i fix something myself for that on next run.

the spacer thing is under $20, but them you have to deal wih the ram, etc.

the danger den setup is prety nice, but not cheap

my 6600 has seen 4.7, but runs well for 3d at 4.4 (vapochill ls, no mods). This is a 24/7 machine...

Thats just insane... I'm only @ 11,236... but my CPU is at a lowly 3.7Ghz, and my cards are on air with the spacer kit and VF700's only using the 1.55vmod on it.
