    Talking ABIT AW9D-MAX + CellShock PC8000 = Starting the WRs?...

    Well.......I played a little with the ABIT IC7 mobo.....Errrr.....AW9D-MAX I mean AND with a pair of 1GB Ram modules > Cell Shock PC8000....

    FIRSTLY I must say some observations about the Ram Modules....I think they suck big time......They couldn't even do 525MHz (1050MHz DDR) at Cas 3 - 3 - 3 - 1......
    Joking of course.....

    SO......Let the WRs begin......

    Is this a WR?.......Rams = 2 x 1GB Cell Shock @ 519MHz (1038MHz DDR) benchable?....

    Cpu-z Validate: HIT ME HARD......

    Some Everest......

    Don't look at Memset timmings.......I was going to hit Rams' limit that's why they are "loose".....

    ABIT AW9D-MAX "stands" right and "tough" too......ROCK SOLID up to the very last MHz......

    I couldn't do more than 460MHz fsb with CPU:Ram = 1:1 cuz of ABIT's issue - for the time been - ......I hope that they'll solve it with a newer bios though........458MHz fsb came VERY EASY but 459MHz = NO GO......Waiting for newer bios to come out so as to get the 500MHz fsb out of the 975X chipset.....
    At 458MHz and 1:1 I was 3-3-3-1 easy......

    NOW......Please DON'T ask about Memory Voltage!......I MUST upload a video some time cuz with the Cell Shock Ram Modules we are getting crazy.....

    Vdimm was provided by DDR Maximizer of course and it was 3.4Volts.......YES you read well.......3.4Vdimm and the ram modules "asked" for MORE......Shi(f)t.....It's the first time of my life that I scared THAT much.....!....

    The config:
    Motherboard = ABIT AW0D-MAX
    Ram Modules = Cell Shock PC8000
    PSU = Zippy 700Watts
    VGA = ATI X1900XTX
    EXTRAS = DDR Maximizer for Vdimm
    HD = Western Digital 80GB PATA

    EDIT: The voltages that used were > VMCH = 2.1Volts, Vfsb/VCCA = 1.7Volts, Vdimm - 3.4Volts ....
    Swiftech heatsink with a Delta fan 4 x 4mm 10000rpms for the Northbridge and default heatsink for the CPU.....

    I would like to congratulate ABIT for this ROCK SOLID mobo they built......IC7's time IS BACK.....

    I ALSO would like to congratulate MSC company for the Cell Shock Ram modules......BH-5's time IS BACK....

    Stay tuned.......TO BE CONTINUED......

    Amazing Hipro! 3.4 vdimm on ddr2!

    Your subtimings are a little loose though :S

    What do you have to say about the AW9D other than it is great?

    Yes they are a bit loose cuz of the max mem frequency.....If I remember well, it can do 3-3-3-1-15us-8T-23-5-9-8-7-4-4 at 507MHz to 510MHz...

    ABIT ehhhhh....rocks maybe..?....

    Yes I wonder the same thing.....

    Maybe is because Cell Shock Ram modules DON'T have the sillicone tape (1mm thikness) as ALL the others have BUT pure sillicone paste that contacts directly the chips to the heatsink so they keep staying cooler than the others.....

    Were modules getting hot?

    Haha, isn't running 3.4V for ddr2 like 4.7V for ddr1? Man that is the highest volts I've seen so far, modules still alive?

    Yes they are.......The strangest thing of all, is that I'm used of feeding Ram modules up to the Vdimm they can "hear", till they start producing errors (from a Vdimm and upwards)......These ones want MORE.....Even at 3.4Vdimm they worked fine and they asked for more.....I didn't have much time for testing in my hands though but I'll be back with more detailed updates.....

    Hot.....Yes they're geting a bit hot......

    P.S. : ABIT AW9D-MAX ROCKS BIG TIME...

    Great results Hipro, Im always amazed by your disregard for voltage
    Now get these totally tweaked, the proc and vid card under some LN2/DICE action and lets really see some records fall.

    It doesnt seem like the ratio gets you more bandwidth or latency. Maybe its because the versions??

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=116463

    Ill try that version.

    Excellent clocks hipro, and crazy Vdimm
    Trying to keep up with P5B-Deluxe and TEAM Xtreem DDR1000 5-4-4, 3.21V for now, the mobo won't clock any higher 1:1.

    With 2:3 I can validate 527Mhz 3-3-3 but not even 500 3-3-3 is benchable. Weird motherboard.

    See here. Too bad 965 is slower than 975X due to increased chipset latency over 400Mhz FSB.
