with the dfi board theres a bug with getting over 300htt with the 800mhz mem div.. you have to boot @ like 296 but in windows you can use clockgen to get the rest also it sets the mem timings too tight so use systool to relax things. i usually run winmemtest to test settings in real time

ok, sounds like a reasonable bug to overcome. i have a set of 8500 ballistix here ready for action, so im hoping to abuse them however possible

Even when you set the mem timings manually in the BIOS, it changes them ?

they're some timings only systool can get to and thats the problem im having with the 4x4 setup. there are no tools except memset and ntune that work with 4x4 but i need control like systool till i can do anything mem clocking wise the highest i creep to is 1100mhz this board subtimings and drive strengths are wrong and to tight for high clocking d9s. or maybe asus will make a bios with the timings or a mod bios will come along

got my 2nd cpu installed but old betsy cant hang on every time i pushed 3ghz it would shut down this thing sucks juice so to get proper benches im gonna have to get a new psu. my pcpower 510 put up a good fight all these years but ima have to let her go.


i got a eye for that 1600w ultra psu this should be good till 16cores rolls around

i did find a work around though i dropped the cpu volts to 1.35v htt to 1.2v and shut of any onboard things i dont use,so im inching towards 3.1 maybe.post screens later

btw i look forward to abusing your dfi as soon as i get my WC setup Just searchin around for the deals. also how did you read temps on it? core temp restarts the pc and smart guardian isnt on the driver cd? is ntune accurate?

found it, it just wasnt in the main cd autorun menu, tracked it down in the cd

im making a request to anybody who knows how to make small programs to adjust memory settings for amd setups to pretty please make one for dual socket setups.

i use memset and ntune but recently found out it only changes timings for cpu 0
while cpu 1 remains unchanged.

and if any knows of a way to edit ami bios stock memory timings to relax them and set the drive strengths to weak would be very helpful

these timings would be good for the app.. and if you need any info dumps just let me know
