    Question for Gskill Technician

    Hi everyone.
    I have Gskill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ 2x1gb

I pushed my E6600@3.6 (9X400) and now I have trouble making my ram go @500 (4:5) to work. I can only boot @1:1 @rated speed (800)

Ram is tested@2:3(500) with cpu@3GHz(9x334) and works just fine and even beyond that (535 max I think @4-4-4-12)

Is this a divider problem or it could be something else?
What do you suggest me to try?
    Thanks in advance

*P.S Also I need to ask as well if it is safe to run them @2.4v for 24/7? I know 2.4v is a bit high but is it ok?

FSB500 r u sure your mobo can handle it well?
2.4v it is better with fan

the divider problem is nothing relate to memory. it is mostly relate to mobo bios problem (hiding timing)

    Hey GST,

I think your expert help can help us and many others wade over this problem.

This excellent memory did 530Mhz 4-4-4-8 with ultra tight sub timings (3-9-5-9) and 4-30.

But it refuses to boot @ 400 4:5 on my P5B Deluxe. Since you have better access to these technologies, please help us get over this problem because it would be nice if we could run these 399x9 4:5 with as tight as timings as possible and really benefit from the speed.

The same board (p5b deluxe) with my friend easily does 4:5 399 even upto 435Mhz. So its really weird that my board has issues running 4:5 399 even at 5-5-5-15 max voltages.

I think something is amiss here.....

No m8 excuse me for not clarifying that well
    I meant 500MHz for ram running @4-4-4-12 . Cpu was @3.2(9x333 fsb)
Now I'm trying to find out why it can't post @3.6(9x400 fsb) with ram @4:5(500) with same timings..

I have tried bioses from 0614 to 0804 (p5b deluxe)... None work for me for 4:5 bootup !

Some strange bug indeed. And I see Orbitech is having the same problem on a different board altogether.

My friend doesnt hv a problem doing 4:5 on EXACT same specs as mine upto 435FSB 4:5.... I cant even do 399 4:5 nor is 410 4:5 stable with RAM at 2.45V 5-5-5-15....

for your case, i am sure this problem happen to many users.
400 : 500 can't boot is becasue the TRD is too tight
the initial TRD is 6 but over FSB400 : 500 we have to use TRD 7+
that is why WS pro and WS64 pro has TRD option open
if you use memset and clockget you will find out that too

    hey

    my ram is 0630xxxxxxxxx

Is it bad news for me?

I will surely try it out....

But strangely... i am now at:

    I believe these are 4-4-4-12-4-30-3-9-5-9

And memtest stable @ only 2.2V..... Why is that divider such a issue accross all bioses?

It worked.. I did put TRD 7+ in memset and now I can do 4:5(500MHz 4-4-4-12)@2.3v

I did put a fan as well in them to keep them cool. I hope 2.3v is tolerable for 24/7

    I don't know what's happening..
Last night I could do 500MHz @4:5 with 2.3v setting the tRD at 7 from memset.
Today it boots but I crash too.. Even with 2.4v..
Does the memset holds the tRD value permanently after the shutdown of computer or not?
And if not how can I set it permanently so I won't have a problem?

It seems the p5b doesnt like any dividers, it seems to have problems with bios or so. Sometiems it will boot at high fsb while the next time you restart it may req a much lower fsb. I dont think its gskill's problem but just asus.

I have the same problem on my P5B dlx

this f ing board is driving me nuts

the ram does 500+ easily at 2:3, orthos and memtest stable for the 12 that I tested.
but 4:5 this $H| doesnt boot and sometimes if it manages to boot i get memory errors in windows
I have tried all bios even the 804 but no luck

this cant be a memory problem right ?

p.s my ram is rated for 500mhz

Yeah it's getting really annoying.. Too many boards and zero support.. FFS such a premium $$$ board and not being able to adjust one two options in subtimings..

at first i thought it was a strap issue at 370-390 but even at 401-405 4:5 doesnt work.

This seems to be a problem to a select few motherboards unfortunately we along the unlucky few who are affected.
I emailed asus about this and got a standard canned answer asking me to update bios. obviously that doesnt work

They dont seem to have clue about this problem and absolutely no idea how to fix it.
I been searching a lot on other forums but havnt really found anything much on this.

Orbitech on a P5W ? So this problem is not limited to the P5B

what revision motherboard do you guys have?

p.s I dont think this has to do anything with g.skill support so should be moved to Intel forums?

I emailed asus about this and got a standard canned answer asking me to update bios. obviously that doesnt work

They dont seem to have clue about this problem and absolutely no idea how to fix it.

As usual I again issues a ticket at ASUS Support site. I plan to pursue this, and if required, make some international calls. This issue is really really stupid and is a big PITA.

Hope we get a solution out of this.
