    Bios Mod for Asrock Conroe865PE

    Hello,

I was courios about the Asrock Conroe865PE, because i can use my DDR1-Ram and my Bliss 7800GS+ with the Core 2 Duo, but due to Bios limitations the memory divider is set to 3:2 [FSB:RAM]@CL2,5, which is ok wenn you use "normal" ram, but I have 2GB Mushkin XP Redline DDR500, stable around 270Mhz@3-3-2-8.

The board itself uses the Intel 865PE chipset, also capable to run with high frequencies, so I just can't understand Asrocks rigid answer, changing the divider won't be possible. Compare it with i. e. Asus P4P800.

The divider is changeable when using a FSB800-CPU, why not at FSB1066?
The CAS Latency is also changeable when using a FSB800-CPU, why not at FSB1066?

Is there anyone who is capable of unlocking these two settings?

    Thanks,
    pajaa

I can change the mem timings with 865 tweaker, but not the divider, and thats the problem, because I want to cahnge it to use the full potential of my ram.

Perhaps, the problem can be solved by telling the bios that a FSB800-CPU is installed, but that needs some biosmodding.

May I know where you buy this asrock conroe865pe ? Thinking of getting one for myself. I can not find it in Singapore. I found one in Australia but shipping is a killer. It would be good if I can find it in US or Japan as shipping can be cheaper.

    Thank's a lot !

well, I was part of the development/testing team for those AMC-bioses, and already switched to DDR2/PCIe, but thank you anyway.

I hate to bump an old thread, but does anyone still have these modded BIOS'? Finally tracked down a cheap Conroe865PE for some AGP fun but I'm not having much luck with the old websites!
