A question on running 2 projects

Ok I am 100% on WCG but I just got DSL 3mbs and I know there are bandwidth progs to run that will not impact the WCG and still give a hand to the Vault. So what do you need help on and were do I get it ?
    Thanks, Scott

We need your help on MJ-12, we are only just number 1 in the dailies!! There is a sub forum where you can search around (or nag MM!) as far as I'm aware and If no one answers with instructions by tommorow I will write up a semi-guide.

P.S. There's too many MM's it's becoming like the eric crisis of Rosetta

Do I run it on all the computers I have or just one? And only .Net? not BOINC or something easy for me?

Ok one more thing. If only one is required I have the old PowerBook bronze that is to slow to crunch WCG would this work? If so that is perfect so it doesn't take from my WCG'ers.
Looking for a step by step for Mac OS 10.3 to get it going. I am lost on the "readme" file.

Yes you only need to run it on one pc unless you really want to cripple your internet connection . For windows you need .NET either 1.1 or 2.0 installed and the client.

The old PB should do it fine if my p3 600 can handle it but I have never tried installing it on a Mac, however a quick look found me this on the MJ-12 forums: http://www.majestic12.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1691 . I'm a Mac noob so I don't know if that is of any help.

If you have any trouble with it you could start a thread in the MJ-12 sub forum here where you will get much better help.

    Cheers

Dont bother with red library, its a dead duck.

Dimes is a piece of cake to setup, download the client from www.netdimes.org, register a username and password, join XtremeSystems (if you can find it in the list....its not a-z). Install java from www.java.com.

Start up the dimes client, do agent, properties and select network. Change the top slider to the far left and the bottom slider to the far right, change to UDP and watch the points come in. This should get you about 240 points per hour per client. Bandwidth usage is minimal....until you are on about 50 clients then I find it gets a bit laggy....lol

I think I got MJ12 running but windstream choked me in <20mins. All that reading and time down the drain. Guess I found out if I have a FAP from them though.
So I will try dimes and see if it flys.

Best bet is too first put Dimes on each system. Then see how you get on. If you find that you have a system with some free ram ( say 512mb or more being unused) then start setting up some VMs. I say check on the free ram first as from what I understand WCG is quite heavy on mem and you dont want to lose production there by running some VMs.
