If I ever get one of those, the first thing I'll do is rip off the cooler, and get some decent paste on those RAM-chips... And the core too for that matter... That's the worst case of bad heattransfer I've seen in a long time

Jesus christ, you'll NEED a full cover block to properly cool a G80. That, or a millon little HS/F's everywhere and a regular waterblock.

Is the core really that big or is it just a heatspreader?

I guess you'll have to remove that shim in order to remove that heatspreader
It's a beast for sure, for both power consumption and performance
Anyone got a 7900GTO for sale now? I could use some "oldschool" SLI power

Friend: Do you have a spare PSU lying around?
    Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?
    Friend: Antec 480w

Stock cooling on the 8800 and no vmods.. I came to think about raising the PCI-express freq. but too late.. i had allready gotten rid of the card...Getting new ones from a major supplier in a couple of weeks..
There was not really much more room for oc left.. The core temp never exceeded 33 degrees Celsius, so i guess these cards are gonna be hot as hell inside a housing with all the other components.
But the good news is that one can hardly hear anything from the cards.. silent as can be..

    Overall.. good ..
    Cool things in progress...

and it scores almost just as good as the 8800GTX... something doesnt seem right. If it was scoring 13000 in 3dmark. I'd grab one... But seeing 9800 doesnt really make me think its worth 600 dollars.

Kinda makes you wonder what they will do when frozen then. Anyone seen anything with these in SLI yet?

Do you buy gfx-cards for benching or for playing? And, do you plan to buy HE card and not to use any AA/AF?

This card is faster then a 7900gtx in SLI and a x1900 in crossfire, in gaming that is!

    dang!

Yeah NCIX is doing some serious price gouging, I checked ASI too (heh i laughed when I saw the SS of it) and it's DOUBLE the price.

They are making approximately $600 profit if they sell it at that price ($1128)
Although, I wouldn't even be surprised if someone bought it.
