Wotcha... just found some spray that might be useful, if it's what I think it is...

It's a spray can, 200ml.

Might this be a VERY handy thing for sealing cards etc from condensation, and even water?

I've sprayed a soundcard with some after masking off the PCI Conn, just waiting for it to dry. It appears to dry like a VERY thin layer of tacky rubber, but add a few more coats to get it thicker.

It doesn't give any more info on the can other than usage instructions (hold 8" away and spray) and warnings (don't insert anally)...

that's the problem.... I coated the ENTIRE card. So once it's on it's on. I'll guess if you gradually built up the coats so that it was a few mm thick u could peel it off like latex, but as it's a spray one coat is literally in -teenths of a millimetre... so ya can't just peel it back off after one coat. But with good masking you could get the target area done, build up gradually. A quick easy alternative to bathroom sealant etc.

I've had a can for a while now but just started to use it on the Back of my mobo's. I don't like to use it on my Graphics card just do to the fact that I have a never ending return policy for my card and when I bring the card in for replacement I don't want any traces of Fowl Play on the card I've replaced my G4 card about 4-5 times allready.

Good stuff though if you plan on never returning your hardware. I'd use plenty of coats to get it nice and thick.

Thanks for the heads up..the silicone stuff looks very good.

I've been using spray on Conformal coating about 6 months now..tho the stuff I'm using is of the laquer variety. Like OPP...I spray the back of my motherbord, particularly the areas behind the cpu socket and the AGP slot....tho I spray the whole board..I give those 2 areas a little extra. After thats dry I give a liberal coating of dielectric silicone to those 2 areas also.

I also don't use it on the videocard for the same reasons OPP states...I've taken 3 Ti4600's back so far and they must keep the "untampered" look. So dielectric silicone is used on it also. (Cleans up well )

I also coat both sides of my NIC and sound card to prevent meltdown drips from ruining anything. Heres a pic of the stuff I use.take care my friends

Will get a shot of this stuff I've got tomorrow... didn't know we had it, just found it in "The Drawer of Making"... must've been there at least 3 years, as I would be the only person there to buy it, and I know I didn't.... so quite a handy thing to fall across and damn good timing as well by all accounts! cool!

Plus, majormav or someone mentioned a post about some red stuff that ppl have been known to use to spray on as sealant and asked if I knew what it was / could get him some... could this be it?? Basically what I have, but colored red! 2 birds killed with one stone...

I use "MARS FOAM SEALANT"

Non conductive and ready to use in 20 mins. as soon as 5 mins if your in a hurry.

comes off easy if done right.

I am tempted to test spray on pam "yes the cooking oil" before I apply the sealant. This would make it even easier to remove. I use dielectric grease now between pins on chips and over smt stuff.

I will post a pic if you guys want to see what it looks like.
