Dumbest Newegg Reviews. Find Em' and Post Em.

    we all been there...

all checking out some product and wanted to see what someone thought of it, and read something so incredibly dumb or misinformed that you wanna write to newegg of why they need to remove that reviews "thoughts" cause all they are doing, is spreading misinformation and half ass opinions.

    so...

how about we find them, and post them?
theres thousands there, whats the worst ones you can find??

post them, and give a small reason of whats wrong with it.

Cons: There have been many memory problems DDR-2 memory. This is NOT the fault of the chipset manufacturer (intel, nvidia) but rather the fault of the memory manufacturers. JEDEC standards call for all DDR2 memory DIMMS to run at 1.8v. If a memory DIMM needs 2.1v to run at DDR2-800, it wont boot in a lot of systems. Luckily, motherboard and chipset manufacturers have built safeguards into their systems (Like this motherboard). Memory manufacturers have also started creating better SPD settings and they have also started to have good enough memory yields to produce DDR2-800 memory modules that can run at 1.8v. My G.Skill memory I bought runs at 1.8v-2.0v which is most likely NOT JEDEC-Approved but it worked fine in this motherboard. It appears that this motherboard will support memories with non-standard SPD settings but I may be wrong. I have not had any other major problems with this motherboard so far.
    from the P5B-E...

    whats wrong??

ram is not programmed to boot at a specific voltage.
just like if you put some OCZ VX4000 in your PC its not gonna boot at 3.5 volts...

what happens is, ram has a safe boot speed, so it should boot in any board, at 1.8 volts or so...
typical boot settings for DDR800 is usually 667 mhz, cas 5-5-5...

does this mean somethings wrong with the ram?
    absolutly not.
it means, you have to go into the bios and set the mhz/voltage manually and the cas too.

this person Quotes JEDEC, so he sounds like he knows what he's talking about, but you can tell its a combination of quoting reviews and such that he didnt really bother to read... and trying to make himself look smart, cause he heard the word JEDEC....

Pros: + Very, very easy to install. + Supports Core 2 Duo (though I don't have one yet, I'll be getting one in the near future!) + Good manual. + BIOS has a fair share of features. + Integrated graphics, though I don't use them, support DirectX 10 and SM 4.0. + Very good layout.

    hahahahaa....

FIRST DX10 and SM4 Card... the Gigabyte GA-DS3!!!

    from the GIGABYTE GA-965G-DS3 reviews.

This is on a 7800GS AGP

What's wrong? Well, not only does it support that res, but that res is less than the max res....and to top it off, he didn't even open the box to TRY IT.

    Reviewed By: Hydro on 11/12/2005

Comments: These are the best out at the moment I believe. I borrowed two 1 gig 8000UL's from a co-worker to see how much I could overclock since my processor seemed like it could go higher than the ram I had would allow. I managed to get my computer up to 5.3GHz Stable and tested with Prime 95 for a week then went to see how high it would go before it hung. Booted up at 5.4, 5.5, 5.6. 5.5 and 5.6 would probably be stable as well but it was up to 65c at 5.6 and 72c at 5.7. I try to keep it at 60c for normal operation. At 5.7 the cpu temp was too high to go any further and dropping the voltage made system unstable. Rig was watercooled... dont try going that high with air cooled. You might start a fire. Ram was at a 1:1 ratio @ 2.1v throughout the testing and never adjusted the timings beyond spec.
anyone else smell the BS, or is it just me?

    ^ Hah.

Here's one I posted on another forum some time back...you can still find it in Google's cache. (it's at the bottom)

    Sapphire X1900XTX

Pros: the thing runs anything at full maxed out resolution. games run excellent. i've ran halflife2& counterstrike source, doom3, NFS most wanted, strategy games... smooth as butter. gotta love 1600x1200 with samsung 20" excellent performance.

Cons: i ran games for about 6-7hours straight and the card got quite hot, so running at full res i would get "VERY SLIGHT" (i'm paranoid) frame loss, now ordinary people probably wouldn't notice. overall filthy card.

Other Thoughts: i would like to see how it will do when i install windows vista build 5536 today (pre-RC1). i built this computer with an Intel Core2Duo E6600 non-OC anything. everything runs pretty well. i multitasked DVD-burn, 1080p quicktime trailer, internet, and some file browsing... it got a little "slow" but responded to everything just fine

This reviewer reports that his/her technical understanding of this type of product is somewhat high and has owned this product between 1 month to 1 year.
    Overall filthy card. Wonderful analysis

Oh and this one is an absolute classic.
Remeber that Jetway SLI mobo with 3 PCI-E x16 slots? You use 2 for SLI, and the one in-between if you only have a single card. Well guess what this brilliant guy did

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRa...gesize=&Page=3

    Pros: Its a great idea, 3 pci x16 slots. So, I bought 3 6600gt's..

Cons: But, they dont fit.. Slots are too close togather.:-( Ones fan is against the others back side and with 3 fans blasting it buzz's big time! Come on Jetway?? figure these things out BEFORE you sell your product!

    Other Thoughts: Sending it back..:-(
Use in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of n00bs. Overclock within 24 hours of opening.
Do not read instructions before proceeding, do not use only as directed. May cause frustration, late nights and empty wallets.
If symptoms persist please consult your hardware professional.

I think he means you have to run higher voltage to do the specified timings. There were issues with a few motherboards that wouldn't post because what it was pulling off SPD was too tight to handle at default voltage. A lot of people had to use cheap ram to even post to go into BIOS and make the necessary changes.

    Athlon 64 FX-62 Review 10/28/2006

    FANTASTIC CPU!

Pros: this cpu owns, it runs hl2 without breaking a sweat, sure the conroe beats the pants off it but this is all the power you'll ever need that and its is easily overclockable. sure it costs alot but its got better cash than core 2!!!!1!!

Cons: my friends core2 6600 beat me in 3d2001. but intel is optimised for small graphics anyhow.

OMG...WTF?!?!?!??!?! If this person is still living at home, his parents should suffocate him in his sleep...

    Review of Opteron 8220, a $2159.99 CPU. Compares to a C2D 6800 ($979.99)...Hilarity ensues...

    woohoo!

Pros: Fast, cool, good overclocker, amd processor... list goes on and on...

Cons: price... thats about it... this beast will run just about anything you can throw at it and more! not quite as good as a intel x6800... it runs a close 2nd...

Other Thoughts: not as good as the x6800 but that is usually expected from a server processor... but it can do everything that you would want a processor of this kind to do and much much more! if you want a processor that will run a solid game server (28+ players on a nearly constant basis) this processor is a dream come true!

LMAO all hilarious! There was a review of a PCI-E X1 network card a guy had put in a standard PCI slot and couldn't get to work. But I wrote newegg a while ago and they removed it. So if you do see them you can get them removed to help out other customers decisions.

A review on my mobo (A8R32-MVP) from newegg...

Cons: The "supports 4GB" is a bit misleading. First of all, if you put 4GB in, it will only let you use 2.75GB of it. Secondly, when you do put 4GB of PC3200 in, the memory clocks itself down. I knew about the slow down in advance, but I didn't know about losing 1.25GB of memory due to the southbridge (at least that's what I've read).
umm... windows XP and 32-bit limitation??

Then on the zalman CNPS9500 which I also have:

Pros: looks good lots of extras

Cons: tryed to midifye it by adding more soldering to the contact area and ended up almost blining my self. I heated the bottem so much that one of the pipes poped and liquids came out.

Other Thoughts: i am geting anoter
