Well from the Change log it doesn't look like this will solve the Rice Crispy noises I get in 2142...

which is a shame because between the Crackling and my Jacked up stats I don't really wanna play 2142 as much as I did before they started acting up...

Funny I never noticed the Crackling until My stats went nuts.

    sigh...

I'll still install them with my fingers crossed.. I have a feeling my stats are going to be screwed up for a few more weeks... .. Here's hoping this will eliminate at least one of my issues.

that problem is a known bug, i get it too and sound will work on desktop, but not games
the only way to solve it is to reconnect the sound device(s) and restart ur computer, i dont know of any fixes yet
and at the crackling, only some cards (or most i think) has it and i am fortunate enough to get a good one (bought mine from amazon)
it seems like only certain cores are screwed up

I have a potential fix for anyone experiencing problems with their X-Fi:

Sell it and get an Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1.
