    Am2 = Ddr 2 800 = Lie ?

    Well im in the high-end scene 4 years now ,and i am very confused about this socket and memory suport by it

    I tried diferents mobos from diferents brands and chipsets ,and many procesors single and dual-core

    the memory is always shown at 367/368 MHZ by many programs ,cpuz ,etc even if its locked at 800 at bios

    The only way i managed to get it at 800 was putting FSB at 400 ,the funny thing its that the divisor when overclocking does not work at this value ,and no matter what i change 400/544/667/etc its always remain the same.

    Its also a funny bug that ,when you are at ,lets say 240 FSB and 533 divisor ,if you increase it to 667 ,the memory drops 10 mhz more :S

    Tried several memory benching programs and i have worst results than a 754 or 462 socket ,for example 3600mb/s in sandra arithmetic ,getting close to 5000 when fsb is at 400 and memory 800mhz 3-3-3 ,when i am at 7000 in the same bench with any 939 with good ram timmings .

    I searched for this issues and have no luck ,Users of AM2 socket any clue on this?

    Thanks

    Like i said ,many EJ : Asus M2N-E , M2N-SLI , Gigabyte 55-SLIS4 , Gigabyte 55-S3Gplus ,ECS 570 Extreme ,MSI K9N Platinum , and so on

    I havent had a chance to test any dfi for am2 yet ,so basically all brands except this one

    sounds like you are missing something simple. dont leave any settings on auto, set them all yourself. Also make sure you have the dimms in the right slots for dual channel

    let me guess...11X CPU multiplier?

    have a look at the chart posted here:

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...t=am2+dividers

    it should help clear up the confusion you are having with AM2. the dividers don't work like they did in 939 and with certain multipliers (AKA odd ones) you will never get DDR800 without OCing the CPU. HTH

    Thanks ,like i said i tried many processors 9x ,10x 11x 12x
    i will work to gt at least at the same performance level of 939 with that table as guide

    I got DDR2-800 fine from 200HTT

    (ignore the timings - cpuz is wrong)

    I'm on a Gigabyte GA-M55S-S3 and I haven't got any problems. Sure, every CPU with an uneven multiplier (9,11,13,...) will get a slightly lower memory frequency than the one set, due to how the frequency is derived. So, my 3500+, when set to DDRII-800, runs the mem at 733MHz. If I overclock the CPU to 2400MHz (like a 3800+) I get exactly 800MHz.

    So, no strangeness here.

    its cpu multi dependant, if you are using an odd multi and not an even ODC will lower the ram clock. To be sure you are looking at ddr800 just run a 10 multi and all is fine, its just how the memory controllers work...its no big deal
    Got a problem with your OCZ product....?

    There is a little recap of the odd multi issue in this review by Anandtech of the AM2.

    Hope that helps clarify the calculation of the memory speed.
