I wish they would release an overclocking board with nothing around the CPU

Hm, from the features it looks like more a value board...

However, I see Softmenu there instead of uGuru. Does that mean, they're trying to go back to the NF7-S goodness style?

That may be my board then I just lost my P5W because my insulation wasn't good enough. Might as well make it as easy as possible Another issue I've had is the waterblock I use seems to almost always have a corner over the caps. I was never able to get a good flat mount and had to resort to extra TIM to fill the gap.

Thanks but no thanks, abit (formerly ABIT) has left a bad taste in my mouth. Similar to that of when you wake up the next morning after drinking whiskey the night before.

Blue PCB norm for Abit now?

Looks decent. Looks not too pricey either. Lots of room for VC and 2 PCI slots.

Weird place for battery and how do u clear CMOs?

not much placement for phase around CPU, and that looks like a 4 phase power regulation. How the hell are you supposed to crank on that?
Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Wow that thing is sexy, may be my next buy if abit lets me choose the NB strap settings. Not alot of extra crap either so it should be cheap.

What? 90% of C2d boards are 4 phase, and just as many are 3phase, only a few boards have more. it doesnt make any difference if its designed properly.

Yeah, once Digital VRM get popular we will see that more i think, with the current setup that stuff needs to be close to the CPU for good stable power delivery.

If you need more room why not use Hipro5's trick? http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=119275

looks like a budged board to me.
AB9 isn't to bad, but it just has a crappy bios. Yesterday they released a new bios, which allows me much beter overclock and stability. but haven't tested max fsb yet.
I believe the AB9 has the best overal performance to other 965 chipset boards.
I hope this new ABIT board is just as good as well

thats definatly a value line board...
but being a "Value" board means nothing... theres still great Conroe boards out there less then 150...

    good clean lay out too.
hopefully they learned from the disaster of the AB9 and went back to the drawing board for something better.

Why was the AB9 so crappy?
Im looking for a cheap board that can push a celly to new levels and with decent voltage options standard.

Since Abit was the only one (AFAIK) to make a µATX 945P mobo it makes me wonder if they'll make a µATX P965 too, would be nice.

Why only 4 x SATA if it uses the 965 NB and ICH8 ???, or is it using the ICH7 ??
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's

Its just a limited board, so it can be cheap.
I bought my AB9-PRO for 150 euro, i wonder if this new abit can be priced around 120 euro.

And kunaak:, why do you think the AB9 is a Disaster??

    Oohh, maybe!

I sure hope so at least. Never liked the gimmicky "uGuru" from the beginning anyway.
