Here we go - CPU is on water (not chilled !!!) - board is P5W64-WS PRO with 0301 BIOS and the RAM is the one and only CELLSHOCK 1000 at 2.71 Vdimm:

heh, not bad. keep in mind that conroe has awesome prefetching that greatly reduces latency.. i'll see what i can do on my AM2 in a bit if you'd like to have a competition
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

You are the winner of the bandwidth competition on AM2.......

not with a single core. bandwidth sucks without dual, interestingly enough

Oh - You're still on single core. Did not recognize this fact, sry.

So You are right mate - but on AM2 I could bet You are soon on quad core......

heh, here's a relatively modest run. you should be able to beat me by cranking the mhz on that ram some

    looking forward to seeing it

my ultimate goal is to break 30ns. i need some crazy cold temps to get my cpu that fast though

why not drop your CPU multi, since you have that option with AMD without a hit in latency
Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was

what exactly would that do for me? it's not like i can get lower than cpu/5 for the memory ratio..

meh, true. But that isn't going to be a problem for K8L

if size matters, i'll run 2x1gb or even 4x1gb for you

all right. same mhz with 2x1gb. tightened up a few other timings to get a slightly better score

My lowest was about 32.6ns on s939 in winter. That was with CH5 UTT.
But i guess DDR pwn DDRII in latency tests

Lol. The best I'm getting right now is 50.4ns with my plain old DDR 500. DDR2 does have bandwidth/latency advantage to some extent just because it clocks higher. I'll see how fast I can get this RAM. I've done 290MHz before, which should provide a nice score.

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ @ 2.6GHz
    Thermalright SI-97A w/56 CFM Panaflow

    eVGA GeForce 7600GT w/Zalman VF700-CU
    Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
160GB Western Digital 160GB Hard Drive
500W XG Vortec Ver. 2 PSU
    NZXT Zero/Logitech MX518, X-530/Saitek Eclipse

CPU soon to be under WATER (this time I mean it)

    Planned '07 upgrades: 19" widescreen LCD, mid-range DX10 card
