    Question Help with cooling setup

Hey guys Gots a question.... It about my new setup! I currently have what in my first sig, I like it and all but the peltier is seriously underpowered, it gettin like 11.5v total So its not workin too well, my idle temps only gets as low as 11c, that is the loweset I have seen it!(just depends on the ambient. I really dont think that my pump/rad can handle the heat its pittin out. And my ambient is always around 80-90f(SUCKS).

Right now I have my rad up front blowing air out of the front and two 80mm in the rear as my intake. I really dont want to use the 226w peltier anymore, I have a 156w peltier just laying around and was thinkin of using it instead? what ya think?, I want to go with a single PSU, Im going to get the Antec Tru-Power 430w. I figure either way the pelts going to be under powered!.

This is what I want to do. I already got a window for my door and it has two 92mm cut-outs for fans, I've got the Stealth fans(dont like the noise) so both will be blowin in to case right over the video and cpu and chipset, I also want to still use the two 80mm as my intakes as well, and the relocate my rad to the top of my case, right in the middle of the top between the psu and the drives. Is it worth it? I figure most of the heat is up there anyway and with all the air blowin in it should help alittle?

I just want everything self inclosed, I could go with something else but dont really want to run water lines in and out of the case? I do have a mini 1.8c fridge/freezer I can use...

any help on what you think would be great or any help on the existing setup would be great, my load temps usually get to about 40c, and if I let it idle it slowly goes up so that is why I think the radiator is having problems with the peltiers heat.

I've played a lot with the 220 pelts and voltages. 11v is plenty for this pelt. Your problem is your most likelly not cooling the hot side well enough. That, and you may not have perfect contact with your CPU core.

A nice and neat system you have. The only suggestion I have is that with the pelt you may see improvement if you upgrade the rad settup. This would mean getting a full size tower and a heatercore twice as tall and use a shroud with two 120mm fans on one side sucking air through.

I was thinking of gettin the D-Teks Custom Pro-Core with the Shroud, Its quite abit larger and its a Heater Core..What ya all think? I also think that I might use a 80w or 115w peltier instead of the 226. I will pull the 226 and put put either the 80 or 115 as a water chiller, I am not lookin to freeze the setup just get my water temps down alittle. What do ya think? A peltier in the loop chilling the water or a heatsink in the resvour chilling the water?

I think an 80 or 115 pelt would be barely adequate if run at the proper voltage but you would be running them under at 11.5 volts so it doesn't seem like that would work. Stick with the 220watt at 11.5volts and increase the performance of the radiator side of the system.

Noooo, I know that a 80 or 112 peltier wont cool the cpu directly, but cooling the water is a different story... If I cool the water enough then then water will cool the cpu.. I think a good radiator and 112w peltier would do the job, at least get me into the 20-30c degree range??

Ahh, I see. You want to make a secondary heat exchanger. I've seen it done with large inline waterchanneled blocks with multiple pelts on them. Heat is exchanged easily from a metal to water but not as easily from water to metal so you need a lot of surface area and probably more than just one pelt to get the desired effect. Here's a page of someone who tried something similar.
