    Bad Opty? You be the Judge...

    I understand that Opty's are cherry picked by AMD, so I wonder what the odd's are that you'd receive a defective CPU.

    Yea, I would have to say something's wrong with it, or that it just doesn't like the mobo much (had the same issue with some Gigaram ram and my DFI mobo). Try a bios update, it might just solve the issue.

    i had an xp chip that did the same.ok when in bios,but would crash when starting windows or right after.cpu changes to full speed when starting windows. amd replaced it with no problem
