    Very nice Thread!

    I have still two questions:

    1. Do the Heat Pipes still work? Cpu Cooler and Mainboard?
    2. Are there any problems with condensation? Also when you get in again?

    Thanks Smash from Germany

    1)heatpipes DO work
    2)short bench-sessions usually got me no condensate
    If you got condensate - use hairdryer

    My geography class memory tells me one of the best places in the world for subzero AIR COOLING would be Novosibirsk, Russia. Brutally freekin cold about January.

    They dont work. i nearly burned my Sandy, when ambients was -20c. Temp was 60c+ with BigTyphoon, before i switched PC off.
    With 0c ambients i could get 8c idle on CPU.

    Ok, then it probably depends on the cooler.
    Perhaps we can make a list with working and not working coolers for subzero use.

    @TaPaKaH
    Which cooler did you use?

    Yep, when it was -25C I was not the only overclocker in the neighborhood and my buddy overclocker Mrlobber reported some problems running TT BT in this cold. I, however, did not notice any problems with it, maybe 0C cpu was already the limit, I don't know

    i think youll only run into heatpipe issues during longer sessions when the temp is really getting down there...

    Also i wouldnt be worried about killing cpu because eventually it will get hot enough to heat the hsf up again

    So, i have just made up a hew thread in a German forum. Otterauge said that it perhaps depends on the Paste("Wärmeleitpaste" don't know the Einglish word right now )which you use.
    For example, he once said that Coollaboratory Liquid Pro isn't good for subzero use.

    @TaPaKaH and Kasparz
    Which paste did you use?

    I vote for sticky, I will definately be trying to get some results when the temps start going down here again, it is not uncommon even here in PA to get temps into the -20c range

    THIS would be a great subzero aircooler.

    Put the biggest monster 120mm on it with a 92>120 adapter.

    Lets add another wrinkle.

    How about some of our more XTREME members try running a high power TEC aircooled? Take the above HS/F, put a TEC under it and add a little copper coldplate under the TEC and above the CPU.

    We've theorized for years that TEC's have a point where the cold doesn't help any more... would be nice to see.
