The CPU-Z validation is not an issue, no problem. The cpu Mhz is a good value that can be achieved but the issue is with it not matching up to your SuperPi score and that rings alarm bells.

Now you mention fake as well as bugged but to me it does go as far as faking or cheating it all boils down to what actually can be considered valid, for instance this is tied in with this thread

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=125972

I suggest this be carried on in that thread and let Charlie's excellent sub zero thread not be more off topic like I have made it already

    Sorry Charlie.

TaPaKaH, could you explaind me one thing please
your best Spi time 9.781s is in terms of tweaking a bit poor if compared to real Spi gurus like kaz-an, kyosen ... For that run you have 520 3-3-3 that is a lot, you also stated that you used modified Bios, professionally stripped and tweaked OS (you said you payed for it)
but this new run is time per clock far supperior that anything we have seen, even OPB's WR run ?

Heh! There is some pretty insane benching going on there . My dads work has a -20*C ColdRoom, and a -86*C Sanyo VP Series freezer! Would love to put it in there and see the benching I could do! It's only about 8-9*c outside at the moment, so when it starts getting colder I shall be going down to the garage and do some benching!!

    Crunching:
Main Rig: Dual Opty 2536s, SM H8DA8-2, 6gb DDR2 ECC
    Pentium Dual Core E2180 2.0GHz, 2GB PC5400.
    HTPC - Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 1.6, 1GB DDR2, Philips HDTV
    Pentium 4 3.0E @ 3.8GHz, 1GB Ballistix PC4000

Just improved the measured ambient tonight for this thread ..

2.8C measured by thermometer by the rig.

For that ambient temp here is the BIOS figures

    Idle X6800 at 4150Mhz and 1.6+v

    http://www.aocb77.dsl.pipex.com/subair4.jpg

doing superpi, half way through a run, 35C on cpu

    http://www.aocb77.dsl.pipex.com/subair5.jpg

completely passive at this point, 0cfm for the last 2 minutes

    The Tuniq rocks

Watting for real cold snap. Come on guys, all talk and no action, it's a sad state of affairs when a mere mod can get the best figures

Tarakan banned now...but he told me to use TinyXP when I wanted to get that OS FSB wall bios hack is dangerous since 2 or 3 MBs already dead from that. It obviously involves hardware mods too

Can someone point me to all superPI tweaks?

Somehow none of them work for me

Yes, I tried TinyXP, it had some tweaks - IOpagelocklimit etc but it was still worse than fresh xp SP2.

The only thing that really works is tight memory timings. Realtime priority and killing explorer does not really work or maybe very little

Ahh, I remembered, seems that copy waza worked for 32M and time improved by 10s

Nice work there Zakelwe enjoying the cold weather too eh?

Here's some results I got with almost sub zero air cooling, I couldn't really go outside as it was really damp and foggy, so an open window had to do... On a drier day I'll be out on the patio :-

    Air Temp ~1c
    E6600 L628A276
Tuniq Tower 120 - idle temp 32c - max temp dunno
    P5WDG2 WS Pro (0506 bios) 1.64v VCore, 1.98v VMCH
    2 x 1Gb Cellshock PC8000 D9GKX 3-3-3-1 2.58v VDIMM
    OCZ Powerstream 600W
    1 x 36Gb Raptor

    CPU-Z @4303.89 MHz

    SuperPi 32m - 11m 37.750s @ 4183MHz

    SuperPi 1m - 11.984s @ 4222MHz

Here's a picture of the setup:-

I should have flashed back to the old 0408 bios as it overvolts the VCore and I think that was what was holding me back. I've got a prommie here I could use, but I'm enjoying the air-cooled benching better these days, less noise and less hassle.

Anyone with Negative ambient water cooled runs? The water shouldn't freeze because it's always moving right?

Hmmm... It's about -10c out tonight...

2 years ago i was outside with my watercooled system, with an ambient of around -5°C, and i had no problem! But if u want to get sure, just use a bit of "Kühlerfrostschutz" for ur water.. Sorry, don't know the english word for it..

Frost protection from car, not for the window-water but for the cooling of the engine.

are there any dangers when running a ducted setup bringing cold air from outside using a window fan straight into the case?

    Condensation?

Well, normaly here in Norway we got like under -5 celsius from late october to early march, but this year it has been weary little snow. We had green christmas almost all over Norway, and that hasn't happend since 1980's... Everybody (with the OC'ers in first line) blame global warming... Yeasterday I did some good old norwegian OC'ing with a window open and around 0 celsius at the outside with a lot of ice cold wind and around +3 celsius in the room.. got some good OC'ing

Here is a very good page on describing what we have seen this year

    http://www.wunderground.com/blog/Jef...&tstamp=200701

Of course they forgot to mention that Charlie creating a sub zero challenge also made gthe temps go up !

I have not seen the shed below 0C this year for the first time and it is already mid Jan.

Damn I'd love a cold snap. Although this is the AIR cooling thread, my Zalman Reserator would love a frigid wind.

Well, we overclocker must take some blame for the global warming, couse Dry ice IS frozen CO2, and when the DI goes over to gass, we let oute even more CO2... so somehow we are going against our own will her

Should have been benching a couple of nights ago Charlie, wasn't it 20 or so in LA?

Looked like this here 2 days ago, no time to bench
