Has the Supply of Fast DDR2 Dried Up?

I thought supplies of DDR2 were supposed to improve and prices were to drop. Seems like no one has any real selection "fast" of DDR2. (DDR2-1000 or faster). The 'Egg has most fast 2 x 1GB DDR2 modules as "Auto-Notify". They have even dropped some completely, like the G Skill. "Black" HZ series faster than DDR2-800. Anyone know just what's going on?

No idea. I know Mushkin has been resupplying the retailers lately so it's comming back into stock. Other than that I was wondering the same thing.

So I just ordered the Crucial 10th anniversary and will see how it does.

just buy DDR2-800 RAM and check to make sure it uses micron d9 ICs. The stuff overclocks more ro less the same as the DDR2-1000 stuff.

yes the fast stuff is drying up, D9GKX is hard to find, so the remaining is the top bin of the GMH.

With AMD and intel now using DDR2, and the incresased popularity of intel due to conroe, DDR2 demand skyrocketed recently, meaning prices up supply down. hopefully we will see some resupplying soon.

You have to get creative when it comes to finding D9GKX. I was going to spend about $380 on some high bin corsair D9GMH when i found some patriot ddr-1000 cas4 for about $400 at a local microcenter.

If you check locally at a frys or microcenter you may be able to catch D9GKX still available at a decent price.

When your memory costs more than the cpu and more than the mobo and more than your GPU...that's bad lol

    But, we can do nothing

Yeah unfortunatly for the highest performing memory the price is way higher then it should be... $400 for kits is just crazy.
