I'm running a P4 520 3.2GHz on my P5B Deluxe until I can afford to get a C2D CPU. After switching to the P5B Dlx from my old Asus P5AD2 Premium the CPU temps read by ASUS probe increased about 11C during idle!! I took off my CPU block (Storm Rev. 2), cleaned both the CPU and the block with Arctic Clean, re-applied AS5, re-set the block but it didn't help. Temps where still off!!. I checked my GPU temps (since my GPU is in the same water loop as my CPU) and they were the same as they were before (if not lower), so I doubt my CPU is really 11C hotter. I've read around that is not uncommon for the P5B Dlx CPU sensor to be off, but just to make sure the problem is a bad sensor, is there any program that can read CPU temps from another sensor than the one Asus Probe reads?
I've already tried: MBM 5, Speedfan, Sandra and Hmonitor
TAT, CoreTemp don't work with my CPU, and Everest can read my GPU temps but not my CPU temps.
Sounds like a bad sensor, right??
Thanks.
