one major problem. INternet access which would be needed to send out results is SERIOUSLY locked down if accessible at all. There are at least 3-4 different layers of security and rights that I don't have access to.

    this one is staying... :)

After returning the Biostar TForce Conroe board, I picked up another Gigabyte GA-965P-S3.

I finally got it put together. Lapped the TT BT and the IHS on the E6400. Haven't pushed it at all yet, just haven't had the time. It is running at 2900-something, with plenty of headroom, I'm sureI have a non-stock fan on the BT and the rig has 2 gigs of Buffalo Firestix PC2-6400.

    .

More work to go, a few rigs are not running. Changing things around, but I'm getting there.

Was the TForce a bad clocker serlv? I was considering buying a cheap TForce and throwing it under cascade for some E6400 superclockig goodness. Wish I had a board capable of stressing my chip

Well, I lapped the IHS's and cleaned the heatsinks. Those Swiftechs have such a fine finish it looked good as new.

Opened the shipping package for the mobo and pulled the box out. Didn't bother looking at the mobo, I knew I wouldn't get to putting things together tonight.

I need to do the mods. Rob you have any tips on the technique you used to do that., I know the contact I need to cover. It is just so damned small, how do you cut a piece that small and actually place it?

Yeah, I couldn't do much with it, very frustrating. I returned it for a refund.
Others have done very well it though... Actually mixed. Some have, others have had problems.

I just have to do this and then to bed:
Scott: after what you were doing this weekend, I figured you'd be fine working with "tiny" items!

Sorry pal, it's late and on those mods, read your email I just sent you.

i have a Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 with an E6300 and a Crucial Ballistix BL2KIT6464AA663 kit setup.

it runs 3.3ghz on all stock volts. you should definitely be able to push that to 3.5ghz as long as the cpu is a decent batch and your RAM will go that far.

Heh, yeah, I would run it caseless, although when I go to LAN Parties, caseless is not always the best . This case is great for LANs becuase it has wheels, its a 1995 Vintage, used to house a Dual Pentium Pro 200MHz. Also the parents were scared of going in my room when it was caseless, in case they either touched something, or got eaten by the Delta, so therefore it never got cleaned, so it had to go back!

I don't have 1**GHz of power, but I just got my latest utility bill. It's high, but not outrageously high. I had bigger bills this past summer when electricity rates were higher. But I feel fortunate. A few people I know had summer electricity bills that were $500-1000. Mine were nowhere close to that. But it's hard crunching by candlelight.
