I had no idea the EK barbs were pulling off..I thought the thread on the Storm and mCW 60 were the same ..not exactly a G1/4 but with the large O-ring or using both Oring from block and barb, prevented leaks

just my personal experience with the EK/MCW60 combo, it does feel a little too insecure, in the process of tightening the EK barb, the MCW60 threads started to strip out, so I hurriedly took the barbs out and used the supplied plastic barbs, attribute this to the thread difference, length, or just me perhaps being too heavy handed, but I just don't think it's advisable.

I've got the new revision EK G1/4 barbs (Thicker O-Ring) on one of my mcw60's. However, I believe that I'm using only the MCW-60 Oring on it. It's been on for 2 months without a leak. I told EK that I would give him info weather it leaked once my system is finished. But I still am waiting for my case to be done. Should be within the next 2 weeks that I'll have the other MCW-60 fitted witht the same barbs too. I believe I only tightened them down by hand too (very hard). So as of my preliminary use, no they have not leaked on the one vga block I'm using so far. I'd didn't realize that they were comming off either, never read that. Mine have had moderate force on them and I've not noticed anything wrong, They thread, I believe is slightly deeper, but IIRC that's why you had to use the originally O-Ring. Hopefully I won't find my threads stripped once I remove them to redo my loop.

How about DD high flow? Those work fine on storm/mcw60?

Thanks everyone...seems a bit of risk on the MCW60

G1/4 DD High flow..I would guess to have a similar issue, since it is a
    G 1/4 thread too

As much as I want metal barbs on this block.....I think I will skip using anything other than the Stock barbs

I'm still going to use mine; going to install the second pair on the 2nd Block within 2 weeks, IIRC I had no issues with the barbs going flush into the block or thread stripping/wobbling problems. I'll report back.

I didn't mean to say that they strip of their own accord, I was using a wrench to tighten it a bit more and it started to strip, hence the heavy handed part.

Well, taking a look at DD's high flow 1/2" barbs, the thread is very small, and has a big o-ring, should work.

Since I have newer revision EK barbs but no G1/4 high flow DD barbs ..I asked Petra

Here is a quote from Petra..regarding the difference between the EK and High flow DD G1/4 barbs...

Well, the exposed threaded area differs a bit in style and length... The threaded portion of the EK barbs is about 6mm in length (beyond the o-ring) and that portion of the DD barbs is about 4.5mm in length. Additionally, the DD threads themselves are deeper, sharper, and just generally more aggressive than those on the EK barbs (which makes the EK barbs a lot gentler on mismatched threads, like the Storm's 1/4" NPSM threads).
So the thread is longer on the EK barb and this maybe the real issue...so more O-ring maybe need since you probably should not try to tighten it all the way ...so 2 O rings maybe needed like many suggest on the Storm rev2

I used the DD G1/4's on my Storm, and used their o-ring, it's fine. Also, I used them on the MCW60's, with Swiftech O-Ring, and tightened it more, and it's fine also.

I have the EK barbs on more Storm rev2 but I use both the o-ring from Eddy which seems to recess into the barb some) and the o-rings that came on my Storm's plastic barbs and everything is fine.

Guys i feel IMO the EK Barbs will NOT work without a slight modification to the MCW60 block. This sucks, but is an easy fix. I had the luck to borrow some EK Barbs from a local( Thanks Nealh) and they only turn 2 turns as the stock plastic barb turns 7 times inside the block. the EK barb will only turn 2 times before it hits the lip of the oring on the MCW60. I am going to modify mine with a dremel tool to make the EK barb gain more threads.
