Asus p5w64 WS pro and a E6600 how do i change the multiplier

    hi

i have a Asus p5w64 WS pro and a E6600, how do i change the multiplier in the bios for overclocking mine seems to be on 9 stepping and i am unable to change it as i cant select it in the bios, is there something i have missed or do i have to enable something or is it a case of the processor being locked at that multiplier, if i try and change it in windows i have to restart and on restart it has changed back to the 9 stepping

    thank for any help

I think you might ned to set Default CPU Ratio to : [Disabled], might need a bios update.

    HI cheers guys

thought that might be the case but only realised after it was posted, bios update should have been my first port of call but when installing a new motherboard there's so much things to get used to i simply did not think of updating the bios
