    P5W DH BIOS 1407 - sucks for me...back to 1301.

Just flashed to 1407 tonight and I lost my 400x9 Orthos stability. I was 12+ hours Orthos small n large FFT stable on 1301...not on 1407. It bombs out around 20 seconds...all settings/voltages the same.

What a pain in the arse to flash back. Shoulda just followed the "If it ain't broke..."

I probably didn't need to start a new thread for this, but it seems lately, people start new threads for darn near ANYTHING.

Mine is stable beyond 20s so should I start a new thread too? I flashed mine with a thumbdrive and it was too easy as well.

    Come on, lighten up.

I dunno, with like a dozen new bioses since getting this board. I'm fed up with trying each to find it worse than the last.

it feels the same to me so far but I havent push it yet tho. I wish it would fix that C1E issue tho so you can set your vcore and still use speedstep.

problem I'VE been encountering with 1407 is its very picky with what settings it will accept and reboot into. I can set everything to what worked with 1305 bios, then goto reboot and get no startup. Then I load up into windows with default settings, restart and load windows a second time, THEN restart once more and apply my normal OC settings and suddenlly it works.

Half the time if I change one little thing, even the Q-Fan control, the settings won't take.

Currently the bios has accepted the settings I put in and I'm running normally at 3.2GHz on my e6400.

I'm just gonna have to wait for the next version I guess...

1407 Bios would intermittently not want to boot off of my OS drive. It would freeze at the splash screen. I flashed back to 1101. Is there a good bios in between 1101 and 1407?

    Thx

1401 and 1402 are good bios as well.
I have similar problems with 1407, wont take ANY mem settings i try unless it's set to auto (spd). Any manual setting and NO post (and clear cmos needed!).

1402 however works very well, i can try any setting and it wil always post and boot

even at spd, 1407 oc wasn't any better then 1402.

    I need a new cpu...
