Unhappy Getting 40c idle temp with Fx-57 is that right?!

So I just finished building my computer with watercooling and the CPU idle temps are reading 38c initially and slowly climbs to 40c. I have a Asus A8N32-sli board. I thought it might be a problem with the bios, so I flashed it to the lastest version 1303. That didn't help with the temps at all. I tried to seat the processor 3x and used AS5, but it still idles at the same temp. I would've expected it to run alot cooler with watercooling, but I see people with mid 30s on aircooling. Could it be bad IHS contact with the core? I don't know what else to do...any help would be appreciated

    System:
    Fx-57
    xfx 7900gtx x2
    Dual raptors Raid 0
    Seagate 320gb
    2gb of Corsair 3500pro
    Asus A8N32-sli mobo
    CoolerMaster Stacker 830 w/ 7 fans

    Watercooling:
    PA 120.2
    Laing D5
    7/16 tubing
    Swiftech Storm rev.2

Nope I disabled it seeing as how I didn't want to run it if I intended to overclock. Any suggestions on why the temps are high? and how to fix it?

    re-seat your water block

your mobo could be reporting the wrong temp

sell your 57 for a ccbbe 165 opty

Waterblock hose inlet is in the middle...i put a dot in the center of the processor and spreaded it out with my finger using clingwrap. Pump is set to #5. The air coming out of the case is very cool. The MB temps are at 36c.

Something is not right, check the flow of your pump, it may be dieing.

Also, the watercooling section might be of better help to you.

    Good luck.

My FX-55 idles at 36~37C and load temps are 40~41C with water. I have it overclocked and at 1.45V. I have reseated it a number of times, applied three different TIMs, replumbed the system, tried different fluids.. and it is always the same. I think that may be normal for the processor..

put aircooling on it just for testing - should get warmer then, maybe sensor is a bit crap.

I had the same problem with an FX 55.

I ended up leaving it and after a couple of days the temps came down to low 30's.

It's known that AS5 needs a bit of time to "settle in" so give that a try.

Just make sure your mobo is set to shut down if temps get to 70deg C

I've noticed on my FX each time I removed the wb that the spread of the TIM was not even. I have used that same block on my 3000+ and my 3500+ and each time you could see it spread out evenly across the lid. Perhaps remove the CPU and check it.. if you have a piece of glass you can place a drop or two or some TIM and see if the lid is the problem or even check the wb? In my case I suspect it is the lid on the FX.
