    Prometeia problem.

I just finished my prometeia build last night, and when I powered up,temp rose to 40, gave error message Er4,and shut down. I rechecked everything, wiring, cooling head mounting,... Everything is in good order, but the problem continues. Anyone have any ideas? System runs on air, in fact i'm using it right now. System components are as follows; NF7-S ver.2, xp 1700 jiuhb0310upmw,512mb Corsair 3500xms, Radeon 9700 pro, TTGI 520 psu, 100gb WD. BTW, this is my first post

    Firstly Welcome to Xtreme .

Hard to say what the problem could be.

Have you started the Prometeia up without the cooling head attatched to see if it gets cold without any thermal load?

To do that connect up the Prometeia as normal, but unplug the reset cable. Fit your air cooler onto the cpu, then flick your pc on. Remember to support the evap head at all times.

Your pc will boot up straight away and the Prometeia will (should) turn on and start chilling. Sit in bios and watch the Prometeias temperatures.

Thanks PiLsY, I have tried this to no avail. I have since determined the problem to be shipping damage to the thermal bus. While installing the alu-kit, I noticed the left side of the case was dented from the inside-out. Also, the right rear clip holding the compressor to the base was loose inside the case. It appears that the thermal bus was crushed between the compressor and the left inside panel. Somebody dropped it on it's left side (UPS). Unfortunately, Chip-Con is closed for the holiday until Tuesday,so I can't get an answer from them until then. Maybe I'll get lucky, if they'll warrantee it ,I'll upgrade to a Mach2.

If you say it's not working how it should I would talk to the reseller and get something worked out so you could return it and get a replacement that is not damaged.

WerewolfX, it was a gift from my wife, so I didn't have the option of choosing a shipping method. isp, it does't work at all, won't even get the slightest bit cold. It was purchased from ICEe computers. I've never dealt with them before, but hopefully they'll replace it no problem

I wonder if they insured it or anything. I would contact them and see what you can get worked out. Nice wife you have though

Well, I filed a claim with UPS, and spoke with Jimmy at ICEe pc, everything seemed to go pretty well. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks I'll have a replacement up and running.

Mine was like that!! All inside the cardboard has loads moisture and quite dirty actually.

The bolts that had the metal weight had also dented the condensor part.

Also lack of thermal lagging around the cappilary too.

    Sorted now though.
One thing i dont like is the lack warning, atx conditioner isnt compatable with every PSU unless i missed that.

    Si

That's UPS for ya, treat our packages like old trash.
I shipped mine back to ICEe PC on 4/23/03, should have my new one on 5/02/03. Looking forward to it!
