Need advice on choosing RAM

Hello all,

I am upgrading my current pc and I am trying to pick the best memory for the job, but I am having a hard time understanding all the different specs, and trying to figure out whats more important when picking from all the countless options out there.

I see on the sticky that you guys recommend the CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit for people with extreme gaming systems in mind.

Are there better (faster, lower lattency) modules I can get that would give greater performance with my motherboard? The PC will be mostly used for gaming. The motherboard and the processor will be:

Asus P5W64 WS Professional
Core 2 Extreme X6800 Dual Core Processor 2.93ghz

I would prefer if the ram has great overclocking possibilities.

any advice will be really appreciated

My advice - look for Corsair 6400C3 or 8000UL kits or buy some pre-tested DDR2 here @ XS

Thanks for the reply. I will try to find the ones you suggested.

Sadly I cant place the order on XS.. I have to buy it in the same place I am getting the rest of the parts..but I wish I could..
