it is a chipset limitation, it only happens when it is oced and I am quite sure that all mobos with 975/965 does that

    To Dumo:

You can use X6800 FSB 400 in Bios. I already fixed this problem. Good Luck.

ewiz has a far lower price than anyone today on this board.

(although I was not thrilled with their customer service or the person I spoke with after a recent order, I still bought one from them at this price)

Go to froogle.com and search for ASUS P5W64-WS Pro and take the link, although the price may be in the process of going back up some.

Yeah, their price is good but their shipping cost to Australia is over $100 while other stores only charge $50~$60 for the same type of postage, makes them more expensive for me.

So where is this 0022 BIOS then? If it's unreleased or under NDA or whatever can someone just tell me instead of completely ignoring my messages?

Just ordered one of these from ewiz also! Its arriving tomorrow, so all i need is to get some ram and i can fiiiiinally put together this new system. Other parts in my rig are going to be an E6600 (with big typhoon), 7900GT, and whatever ram. Ill be jumping for joy if i get to 400 with this board and keep my 6600 at a 9 multi.

1: Are the temperatures just as high as with the P5WDG2 WS Pro?

2: Does it overvolt like the P5WDG2 WS Pro?

Yes, it overvolts. Not sure what you would define as "high" temps. 40's? 50's? 60's?

This is the best 975X board I've used. Yes, it's expensive. But sometimes you get what you pay for.

    Here is a question guys....

Since both of these boards overvolt....my E6600 requires about 1.573V in Bios, 1.58 in Windows (overvolt). Does my E6600 require 1.58 or is it only beacuse of the motherboard that it requires so much?

I'm thinking of switching boards since I really hate the higher temperatures and the damn overvolting!

It probably means your CPU requires 1.58v on most other boards, though you should use a DMM to get an accurate voltage reading.

A lot more people complain about voltage droop than overvolting. Most Intel boards have VDroop. Believe it or not, it's there by design. You will find the information in Intel's technical papers. Output voltage decreases as load current increases. Asus chose to compensate for this on its workstation boards with overvolting.

If you run full speed, it would be the same BIOS voltage.

So this board definitely seems to be better than P5W-DH.....so do you think ASUS manipulated "strap" setting for this one like they did for the P5B deluxe.

If I ever build a real high end set-up with CF this would be definitely be the board I would get.
