Crucial Ballistix lost my vote with the sudden-death incidents with the DDR1 modules... So even if I had the cash, I wouldn't buy them... Pretty nice deal though, current RAM-prices considered

That X1900Xt is 256mb of DDR3, not 512mb of DDR3. I posted the in the Deals and Steals section, but quickly realized it was 256 mb of DDR3.

    that's a 256MB X1900XT fyi

the 512MBs are $304 shipped, i know cause i just bought one

it's still a really good price for the 256MB X1900XT, there is nothing that can ever compete with it at this $239 price

These benches of the X1900XT 256MB show that the card is a tad faster overall then the 7950GT, which is its intended competitor, while being quite a bit cheaper.

Yeah, I don't know why some of y'all even bring up the 256 vs 512 deal. I looked at benches in multiple sites. They're like 3-4 fps different.

the problem there was with the micron 5B D chips.. if micron chips still have issues, then we're all in trouble

is the 256mb x1900xt worth doing crossfire with. Since the master is 512 you would lose the other 256. Based om cost analysis should i get the 512 for 304 and a master card for whatever. Or the magic question everyone has, wait for a dx10 card. My single x1800xt and tyee block cost like $450. I also think i would pass on the tyee and do a swiftech because $270 for video cooling is steep when u are already spending $700 on crossfire

can anyone tell me how well the Crucial DDR2 667 C3 overclock?? can it do DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15??

and yeah i have geforce 7800gtx 256 sli. i was faced with the same question, then i figure no point to spend $600 on GFX for the performance gain isnt really that much and i maxed every game i played. i am waiting for DX10 card though, RD600 X2900XT CF or G90 GeForce 9900 GT SLI (or w/e they will be called)
