Abit AW9-Max hits the US market

Noticing the Abit posts as boards have arrived, lets hope initial boards hold up to the hype.

I will break mine in under the tripple stage with the X6800, it should fit the vapo fine, nothing is in the way.

The box did not containg a rear fan yet the back plate has vents. NB fan would be a good idea if you planned on serious overclocking.

I plan on replacing the NB heatsink with an aftermarket one but with the stock ABIT MAX heat sinks all interconnected with heat piping, does that mean you have to replace all heatsinks as well just to replace the NB cooling? I'd be greatfull if you could let us know .

The rails are rock solid and dead on, set 1.3625v in bios and reading 1.36v in the voltage montoring.

I have no problem booting at 1:1 or 4:5

Booting 370+ fsb is not possible yet, top multiple on the X6800 is 11.

No problem hitting 4Ghz on air, playing with the memory and voltages now.

I need the new bios before I go under tripple stage.

I will make sure the bios is correct as my board is a sample and I can handle a bad bios where an end user may freak out if the bios has issues.

X6800 ES B1. Hmmm. Wouldn't a retail version be a better indicator of true performance? Hate to see you waste time on yesterday's processors.

Might be of a little interest, I guess. Thanks for putting your time into it, though.

tbh, some of the week 27/28 X6800 are even better than the ES versions. There is a also a chipset/bios bug that prevents most X6800's from going much over 370fsb on the 975 chipset on the 1066 strap.

Just woke up and feeling a bit ill, the trip to Oregon was great but the weather when I left was bad. It was in the 50's and raining = me not feeling too swift.

Ill get in gear, but first I need to go down and signin for WCG. Its going to be a very busy weekend.
