New Rev. Gigabyte DQ6 500fsb with E6700+1G*2 Stable on Air

frankly speaking, DQ6 is hard to conque

    stable @ 500fsb on Air with a 4M_Cache Conroe + 1G*2 Dual Channel.

have to use X1950XTX but not a PCI VGA card to ENABLE the mobo's overclking ability.

    Conroe E6700es B1
    Gigabyte Dq6 C1
    Team DDR2_1000 1g*2
    X1950XTX CF ED
    Zippy 700w

pi_32m result is slow, seems gigabyte has to working hard on this. about 35sec slower than P5B DL with all the same settings.

besides, I cannot overclk to 3.9G+ and ddr2_1140+ with this mobo, have to take off the battery on the mobo to restart when overclk failed.
    that's really sux !

Nice, although 32m / 5 minutes of single Orthos dosn't show that it's rock stable. Nice FSB though.

Victor...could i get a closeup of the heatpipes, as your board seems to be a new revision:

Also, what is the build date of the JMicron controller?, 0621 or 0617?, what about the ITE chip?

Has the ICS chip been updated?

    some more test:

use gigabyte esaytune overclk in windows, cannot boot at 3.7G+ in bios,
vcore must <1.59v, or cannot boot into OS.

    6700es B1 on Air, max=3.95G pi_1m (same chip, 1.58v 4.05G pi_1m on P5B DL)

Thanks for sharing VictorWang. DQ6 seems a hard mobo to overclock with, but Im having a great time with it.

Im with an old revision and as you said its absolutely impossible booting on windows with Bios @ high cpu clocks or high voltages. The mobo has serious problems with vdimm >+ 0.500v or vcore >1.600v.

    Good job

yeah pretty stupid about the 1.59v not booting STILL..
438 is nice but not really much of an improvement.

Victor @ 438 can you power down and power right back on ? does it still boot ?

438fsb reboot is ok, 450fsb about 50% reboot success.
500fsb 100% cannot reboot until u shut down the power then restart

1.59v set in bios cannot boot.
    max vdimm is ok.
