I believe I was using phase change cooling. That was done awhile ago. I would have gotten higher clocks, but I ran into a FSB wall on the board I was using. Also, the board did have multiplier options past x10. On Asus 975X boards, multipliers up to x20 would have been available for Kentsfield. Running FSB at close to 400 did help, however, at least in Cinebench.
One extra difference, on kentsfield all four cores share the fsb, cloverton has dual independent busses so each socket has two fsb paths. If you run SPi 1m four times on kentsfield you'll get around 25 seconds each (I think thats close to the stock times), if you run it 8 times on this guys dual socket it'll be closer to 20 seconds each.
In theory anyway.
I don't know if 25 seconds is accurate. Of course I never ran my Kentsfield at stock speed.
Also keep in mind that two Clovertowns and a good server board are going to probably cost you at least $2500. That's out of the financial reach of many people.
$2500 is probably a very conservative figure, especially if you wish to be an early adopter. Kentsfield ES chips are going for $1500-1700. I'm sure Clovertown ES chips will command similar prices. So maybe $3000-3500 is more likely for dual Clovertowns and a nice board.

Edit: Once intel rip off AMD's hyper transport, and have a native quad core on market, they'll probably just pull the same trick again to do 8 cores on one socket. Intel definatly 'have form' in that area.

Yes, I know. Several people have recently sold Kentsfield chips here. Anyway, the chip is no longer in my possession. And I'm not going to reveal the identity of the buyer.
ES chips have been circulating for years. Intel knows they are out there. They don't like it when they are sold on the open market. But it would take them a million years to track down every engineering sample.

SuperPi Multi CPU - is not very good... Java is multiplatform language and it so SLOW...
"Queens" use 1-16 CPU programmed on cleaer assembler and compiled using
"Hand Made" Intel Netburst optimisation...
