~1500 pts. higher CPU Score on 3DMark06 than a single Kentsfield @ 2.66... very nice results.

This setup could encode video at insane speeds...

Multi-pi is SOOOOO memory dependent, it's crazy (and it shows....it's possible to get a better time on an aircooled Conroe with mediocre RAM yet with tweaked timings).

The rest is exceedingly impressive though....

I don't have links to chess programs. There are a lot of them.

The Japanese also use a rendering benchmark called Mandelbrot. If you're knowledgeable about mathematics, you'll know who Benoit Mandelbrot is.

Having used Kentsfield, I can tell you the rendering power is awesome. I'm sure 8-cores will be even better.
How do u run Povray benchmarks ?

Try Fract. It's a good benchmark and it is multithreaded.

when actually doing the benchmark, have task manager shown, so we can see how many cores are actually being used.

    Nice!

Anyone know if there are ES samples of Kentsfield and Clovertown that fits in the Xeon socket 771?

Yes, I have 2 clovertowns in a SuperMicro mobo.
Think Clovertown as 2 woodcrest glued together . It's the next Quadcore chip for 2 sockets upgrade from Woodcrest.

The difference between Clovertown and Kentsfield is Clovertown can be put into 2 sockets mobo , hence Xeon DP, Kentsfield is only for 1 socket mobo , hence Core 2 Quadro

Kenstfield can't fit in Xeon socket 771 , because it is in LGA775

Clovertown fit perfectly in Xeon socket 771 , I just upgrade a dual Woodcrest to a dual Clovertown by just flashing a bios, easy as that, no vrm , thermal goes up a little bit, but very stable and painless

    Very nice results, wtfdc.

For comparison, this is my overclocked Kentsfield.

Nice results, unfortunately the Supermicro mobo does not have any OC capabilities whatsoever
