    Whoa! Busy bee, aren't we?

This is going to be very helpful for those that constantly ask questions "what memory works or not..." Thanks for your hard work, G.S T

i have problem with this ram. At 400 FSB the RAM can't go at 1000 with 4-4-4-12, but 5-4-4-10 yes. At 333 FSB ram goes 4-4-4-12 at 1000Mhz. I can't go over 440 FSB with ram 1:1.
    There will be some tweaks....

    1st update to lastest bios
2nd let fsb,nb voltage be auto, 1.5v for sb.
then 400 1000 problem should solve
    same for 440 1:1

It is sad than my HZ (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ ---DDR2 800) don't post on P5B DLx WiFi (bios 614)
I had to use 2x256 memory to see post
After I set timings and div they worked fine
    I hate P5B
Sold it and don't have good mobo (daying Bad Axe only)

i've been telling people to get HZ sticks from day 1 of my iNTEL experience.......i've used other RAM and everything was spotty except for these HZ sticks...........they just work and perform really really well

congrats on a great product G.Skill.........would be nice if it wasn't AUD$400 but i guess you get what you pay for

OK,i like this memory, but with this board alot of things are wierd to me, maybe i dont understand but here is what im getting, at 400x9 1:1 divider my bandwidth is around 7300, but at 500mhz with 2:3 divider my bandwidth is 6900, i dont get it, also at 4:5 divider 400x9 my bandiwdth is around 7800 but it doesnt pass super pi 32m dual, also it needs real horible timings to reach those speeds, at 2:3 i can run 500mhz at 4-4-4-12, but at 500mhz with 4:5 divider i can only run 5-4-4-10 and it doesnt pass memtest, even at 2.45 volts. anyone else? also its the build 0606 i believe they should be the micron d9???????

Same here but 8000 2GB HZ

p5b dlx, bios 0614 they won't post unless voltage is set to 2.3V manually using another stick.

They do post with stock bios (03? or smth) though, I haven't tried 0507

    I think it's a metter of SPD
I tried stock bios and 614
I discovered that PC6400 2x1GB HZ have at least 3 different SPD (only mine didn't post on P5B Dlx)
My sticks SN is 0606051016787 and 0606051016788
    Compare 3 x SPD

maybe you can try to use the "post" one spd dump and burn into your "not post" hz and see
from your sn i know it is D9 for sure.
d9 not booting correctly in p965 that is very odd case

hey GST.... nice thread u have here... i am gonna try 0609 tonight (am at 0614, ram is no go over 460mhz, no matter what volts)

also.... can you tell me, if 0630xxxxx are D9. i feel somehow cheated. I know D9 is no promise but i bought Gskills for that. My friends with 2gbhz are sitting preety at 540mhz 4-4-4-8 without putting half effort as i hv put.

    Nice thread!

I have the P5BD WiFi with BIOS 0614, an E6600, and 2GBHZ 6400. It works great on 2.25v (2.3 in BIOS) @ 4-4-4-12 on the 4:5 divider until I exceed about 950 MHz. At 400x9, I can run a 1M SPi, but it flunks Orthos after a few seconds. Using the 1:1 divider, it is stable running Orthos. I loosened the timings to 5-5-5-15, but it still didn't work. I have the V NB, SB, and FSBt all at one step above default.

To be honest, I am very happy with a stable 3.6 GHz overclock with my memory at DDR2- 800MHz @ 4-4-4-12. I understand that overclocks are not guaranteed, but I want to learn more about overclocking and find the limits of my system, so what should I do now? I am thinking of increasing the Vdimm to 2.4v. Another thing, the TRFC defaulted to 42, so I lowered it to 35. Would raising it back to 42 help?

    Thanks,

    Mark

D9 is promise! for any stick after 0605 and 627 later or whatever the week is.. i don't remember which week we started but if it is like 62x it is D9 for sure

put your ram into his machine is the best way to test

    mhorgel:

4:5 doesn't work good above 900 or so with 0614 bios.

It works OK up until about 950 MHz for me. I'm not going to flash to an older BIOS, hopefully this will be fixed in a future BIOS update. In the mean time, I'm going to see how far I can push the FSB at 9x and a 1:1 divider.

the sub timings for the gskill HZ 6400 should be:

    3
    10
    5
    13

    hope this information helps.

they are not timings that i got by myself. they're really the sticks default value.

For thoose having problems running at 400 fsb in 4:5, use 401 instead. the problem is the chipset strap is in is limits at 400, and when you change to 401, it changes to 1333 starp instead of the 1066 used at 400.

    Cumps,

    Remo

ok i got some free time today and i tested almost all asus p5b delux bios. The 8000 2GBHZ booted up only on 0502 bios the all other bios wont boot up this memory. The most intresting was with 0706 bios it booted up with single memory stick but when it start to load the windows it display that some system file is missing and offers me to repair the windows instalation useing windows instalation cd. But when i change the momory to some value memory stick it booted up and runned windows fine and suddenly no file was missing wtf its really weird and when i put in the both sticks of 8000 2GBHZ to run in dual channel mode it wont boot up at all i think that asus sucks for real

dinos22, can you please post the exact timings (sub timings) and voltages (mem,chipset...) that you have used? I look for threads made by Spacemaster but couldn't find your findings.. THANK YOU
