What RAM *will* work with P5B Deluxe?

So I'm about to order my parts for a new C2D build, which will include P5B Deluxe, E6400, and 2GB DDR2. But I've been reading so many horror stories about RAM that the board won't recognize until a BIOS flash, and some RAM that won't even work then. What I can't seem to find is what RAM is almost guaranteed to work with the board, and I'm not counting Asus' QVL list because there aren't very many items listed and most of them are out of my price range.

Also, I don't know whether to get DDR2-667 or 800. I've never OCed before and I want to try it with this system, but I don't really understand the part about using a divider in this guide, so I probably won't want to take the risk of using one in my rig. (Part of the problem is that guide doesn't talk about DDR2, so the numbers throw me off.)

Basically, I'm looking for 2x1GB DDR2-667 or 800 which will work at least long enough for me to flash the BIOS, and will keep working after that. OCability isn't that important, and I don't want to spend more than $220. Any thought?

I bought the Gskill HZ 6400 and the board booted right up even though it came with BIOS 40x something! Right now at PC800 4-4-4-10 2.0 and no problems to report.

Can't buy XMS 2X1GigC4 for 220.00. Maybe get C5 for that price. I had some XMSC4 and it posted fine in the P5B-D, didn't clock worth a damn though. The G.Skill 6400HZ's fixed that problem.

I used Corsair XMS2. No problems. Corsair pretty much works with everything though.

The 2GB Gskill 6400 HZ is the best way to go. I just ordered a pair, overclocks extremely well.

Hynix FP-C4. I'm running it upto FSB 480, 12-4-3-4 2.2V. For 400+ memory you need either lots of money, brain or luck.
