What's the deal with my BOINC benchmark?

I ran it last night and scored around 6k/13k. Today I lower my mem to 3-3-3-4 and kicked the CPU up to 3.7 and now I'm scoring lower in dhrystone? What happened? I'm running an optimized BOINC client so that's not a problem. Unless it deleted it's self. Is the benchmark even important with WCG?

Are you sure that SpeedStep isn't kicking in during the benchmark? I'd rerun the benchmark until you get a worthwhile benchmark. It can take a few times. If it wasn't optimized, you'd probably be getting 3-4k/6-7k

Oh wow I didn't even think of that. I may have left speed step on. I'll check later.

Known problem, no explanation yet. Restart PC and/or BOINC, should be fine again

i am having the same issues. i had this issue with 10 different boxes. i just re-tried installing the opti's on my Opteron box last night. what i did was install BOINC, connect to project, update everything, shut down BOINC manager, stop the BOINC service, copy the optimized files, DON'T start the BOINC service, but restart your pc instead, then my scores went from approx 3000/6000 to 5000/15000

Ok get this. I get my 2gb PC6400 ballistix today and they won't boot 3-3-3-4 411mhz to save their live at 2.35v, so I set 4-4-3-4, drop multi to 8, and raise fsb to 463 for 3.7ghz still. I also disable speed test. Rerun BOINC and I get 30k dhrystone. Odd...
