I just got my P5WDG2 WS Pro yesterday along with a week 27 E6600. Also Mushkin 2GB Redline DDR2-1000 kit. I am not running an SLI setup on it at this time. So far, I am having a good time with the o/c on it. I just have a Scythe Ninja and a 40mm fan sitting on the Northbridge.
At this time, the multiplier is not changeable on the P5WDG2 WS Pro I don't think.

I have the following results to this point:
    1.) 3424MHz @ FSB 380 with vCore=1.40v, MCH=1.80v, vMem=2.25v, 24 hours Orthos stable.
    2.) 3514MHz @ FSB 390 with vCore 1.50v, MCH=1.80v, vMem=2.30v still testing.
3.) Going to up the vCore tomorrow and keep testing.

    A couple of "quirks":
1.) CPU-Z reports 1.20v vCore for any vCore above 1.40 set in BIOS. Don't know why???
2.) SpeedFan is not reporting any fan speed or CPU core temperatures, don't know why. The fan on the Ninja is correctly plugged into the 3 pins on the 4 pin CPU fan header???

Overall, the P5WDG2 WS Pro appears to be a VERY stable motherboard. I am not seeing any of the quirks with it that I saw with the P5W DH or P5B Deluxe. However, the FSB limit of the CPU seems to be around 395-400 without being able to lower the multiplier like with the P5B Deluxe.

    E6700 3.8GHz

something like that ... but its performance per clock is the best compare to any board from what i have seen. it does more work per clock compare to other board,

but too expansive, and i want SLI so im getting P5N SLI .. heh

speedfan does not work with this board, I get nothing in their either

As to the fsb, on my E6600, with max voltage can superpi 1m @460 but that is it, it is no where near stable, and the temps are out of control on water, so need phase for anything more than 1.5-1.55 vcore

my experience with it that is
    Q6600 @ 3.6, cheap water cooling, and crunching 24/7

    Thanks.
As for CPU temperature, I guess there is nothing accurate that can be used.
ASUS PC Probe II is currently reporting 100 to 104 degrees Centigrade at full load running @ 390 FSB with 1.5v vCore which seems impossibly, rediculously, insanely high!!! At that temperature, if it were true, I would have expected everything to have melted into a blob on my table!!!
I was about to say that everything "seemed" to be overall cooler to the touch with this board, before I loaded up PC Probe II.
That, or I need to try some heatsink/fan other than the Ninja???
At this point, the setup is just sitting on a piece of cardboard, not mounted in a case, but that would likely make it cooler, not hotter.
The only other possible issue could be the Seasonic 430W, which seemed perfectly adequate with just one video card, but maybe it is not putting out enough on some rail to adequately cool the CPU??

When the current test is completed, I will get temperature readings under load at stock settings, then gradually crank everything back up and find out at what point the reported temperatures climb off the scale.

Any other advice more than welcome.

Pretty much every C2D capable board has issues with correct vcore reporting in CPUz. Better of using the Asus' own monitoring software for now as that will show the correct reading

Why does every thread she writes have to get crapped up by drooling nerds asking for pics? Go outside, there's plenty of women out there.

I think it's also the fact that she is good at this PC stuff.
She builts her own systems, runs a RAID array, has SLI running on a 30" LCD, and now she's overclocking.........She's good!

i'm not sure if this was suggested or not... i was a little too lazy to read all the posts...

but with the amount of intake fans and only 2 exhaust fans, you can use a fan controller to set the 7 intake fans at about 500 RPM and the two exhaust fans at about 1200 -1500 RPM. you would have to play around with it to get the best result, but i had a setup similar to that in my NorthyM0 days and got excellent results with minimal noise.

What is this forum section about? I'm guessing just random fun conversations

The noise is fairly good, hard to tell because of my noisey Power Supply, and my two exhaust fans, which are the extra thick 120mm ones, are rated a little louder than the rest of the fans. I also should check out to see how much noise the stock fans are contributing.

speedfan does not work with this board, I get nothing in their either

Yes, speedfan is of no help on this board. And I might get crazy and try for a higher FSB this weeked, just to make some of you happy that I tried

I did use ASUS PC Probe II and am getting reports up to 104 degrees Centigrade!! Seems a pinch warm don't you think?

(I AM on-topic since I am setting up a P5WDG2-WS Pro as well)

    Peer pressure

Don't fall for that! If your happy with your overclock and your systems is very stable, leave it as is. You already have a system running faster than one with an X6800 anyway!

I had an E6700 and played for it with a while. But that was $650 I was gambling with...

I will be squeezing performance out of an E600 in the next few days, which won't hurt so much in case of failure

Nice rig . I love the fact your doing it yourself . My wife built her pc by herself also. Including the case modding . very proud of her. Getting her interested in gaming pC's was the smartest thing I ever done.

On your air flow thing . We use a wind tunnel on our race cars to get the results we desire . I know you can't do that . But you can run smoke threw the front intake and watch it by removing the back fan . Yes I know that will change some of the characteristics of the test but it will still give you a good idea of the air flow and movements. perhaps a side fan would give you a better view. you can also run the smoke threw the side fans to see how it interacts and flows on the mother board . It's not rocket science LOL . But it will give you a good idea of how the flow is interacting with your installed devices. Red smoke is the easiest to observer. . You can also run smoke threw the front intake and the side using 2 differant colors to see how flows interact. You always want the the case to maintain positive pressure so as to keep dust to a min.

I wasn't actually going to say anything, but I have to agree with Lestat here... it's quite sad... no that's the wrong word... pathetic.... how some are behaving. Worst of all, I don't know whether to laugh at the thread, or whether it actually bothers her in which case I shouldn't laugh. I only posted before so the case would be added to Stacker SLACKER but now I'm subscribed - *shrugs, whistles and hits unsubscribe*.
