    My question to Nvidiots:

Due to the lack of immediate availablilty of any NF590 Core2 Duo motherbaords I purchased an Intel 975X chipset based motherboard to run my dual NVidia graphics cards in SLI.

I then find that your drivers do not allow SLI to run on this chipset.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am to find this to be the case, to make things worse, older drivers have been modified in the community to allow sli to run.

Now that I know SLI can run and successfully operate on this chipset but you choose not to activate it I am even more emotional about the whole situation.

So before I switch to ATI Radeon X1950XTX, please can you tell me when you will release an SLI driver for the Intel 975x chipset.

    Many thanks.

    NVidiots Response:

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

Due to the competitive nature of this business, we are not able to provide any information on rumors or future unannounced NVIDIA software. We can neither confirm nor deny if or when NVIDIA will release drivers that allow SLI on NON NVIDIA chipset's. Once new software and a Formal Press Release from the company has been officially announced, we would be glad to answer questions and provide information. Please note that since its introduction in 2004, SLI Technology is a exclusive function reserved for NVIDIA nForce MCPs only and is marketed and advertised as so.

Meaning: We have a crappy chipset so good luck because we might not ever support Intel's chipsets.

It's that kind of attitude that will turn otherwise NVidia customers to enthusiastic crossfire adopters.

What's really crazy from a business standpoint is that high-end sli graphics systems are surely a higher revenue and profit margin (at least per piece) product than their chipsets and it seems absurd to jeopardize that business to force people to buy an under-achieving chipset.

SLI is nvidia's only selling point for nforce 500 ... without it nforce has nothing ! it overcloked soo dang low, 350fsb?? 320fsB?? come on!

so i guess if they want to sell their motherboard they will keep SLI on nforce 500 boards only, otherwise if i975 can do SLI officially, no one will buy nforce 500 boards! Thats why i dont think its coming to i975.

i do hope its coming to 975 boards officially cuz u need them to write the SLI game profiles in the drivers for each game, so newer games wont have the SLI profile with hacked driver.

yea since NV wont be allowing SLI with 975x. im buying a new mobo so im thinking the DFI 975x even if i get 350fsb its alot higher then 280fsb. Not to mention i have been drooling over ati's x1950XTX. Will be my first time with ATI, hate to leave NV but they left me no choice.
