Outstanding...
Looks like I'm gonna get that new Intel processor after all
MMMMM my 2.4@3.6 sure would rock in that beast..any idea when it will be available i would love to get my hands on one ASAP i know that the Asus P4C800 is set to drop April 14th, which just happens to be my bday...but i can wait cause ABIT IS GOD
Let the OC'ing begin!
And if you will notice off the side IDE connectors, I wonder who came up with that idea
I want one now too.
Im eyeballing that CPU socket and it looks just about perfect for Prommie bracket. intentional im sure.
I wonder why the power was not put on the top edge of the board.
Im pleased with the board layout, however it looks like the prommie might be "tricky" to get in there with the PilSy mod which i did and dropped my temps 7c!!
If you notice the 12v line is right next to the DIMMS i must say this is probably the first motherboard to do that, i cant think of any where the 12v line ISNT across the cpu on the "wrong" side of the board :/
Abit knows how to build em great, they are refering to these as "gigasystems" and theyre capable of running 250fsb if ur ram/cpu can manage
Let the OC'ing begin!
I just love the colors. Looks absolutely something to die for. The northbridge fan looks sooo cute. But u guys should get the canterwood version of this board. Canterwood is better then Springsdale.
E6600 SL9S8 Malay
ASUS P5W64( no mods )
Mushkin (2 x 1GB) XP2-6400
ATI x850xt
2 x 150GB WD Raptor RAID
Thermalright Ultra-120
SilverStone ST56ZF 560W
I want one for sure, but I think it will cost like 200$ or so.
The only thing I do not like is the AGP Pro slot, nobody uses that.
It sure does look like a winner. This dude should be able to get everything your processor and cooling solution has to offer.
Anyone see it for sale or even pre-order in the US?
I have pre ordered one today but it is in the UK

Your Referring to the IC7-G? If so Aproximately what is the cost in US Dollars?
Would appreciate if you could post the info.
181 British Pound = 284.351 US Dollar
But I would think you would be looking in the $ 210-250 range, It is a normal practice to bend over and get reamed as far as prices on new gear in the UK

OUCH, that is a ream job, Was posted in Abit USA forum by an Abit rep 200-230 USD...
Thanks for the info...
I think the board will be more then 200-230 at initial release
Probably more around $250-$280..
The Gigabyte board I had ordered (GA-8KNXP) was almost $300 Now if you went with the Ultra model, You are looking at $480 or so
The only difference between the ultra and non ultra is the builtin SCSI controller

All I can tell you is thats what the Abit Rep said over at the Abit USA forums.. I'm guessing your probably right, as I think everone is going to want to make some extra cash on the initial release....
Yeah I think that's going to be a top notch board but I really can't afford it. heh. Don't think I'm alone either...
Nope, it's not that bad. I ordered three IC7-G's today from my distro at $195 apiece. Expect web-pricing to be $20-30 more than that initially, and within a few weeks, these boards should be $200 or under across the web.
The IC7 pricing (according to Abit, same board without Gigabit LAN and Spdif input) was $150-ish. Not bad at all, considering what their high-end 845PE's cost, no?

Ruantic, it was MA Labs.
Most web prices will be like Pure's link for about a week or two...then they'll all be around $200 or under, I'd imagine.
