    1.65v and idle at 38c ?
    thats not possible.
    i know i know i know...

    MB at 27c ?

you have it sitting on a table with the AC blowing practically right on it dont you ?

but those are some damn nice clocks.

(i have water and my 6600 wont even idle that low at 1.5v .. your northbridge temp is what is showing your not using what most people would consider "normal" air cooling. which is in your case, everything mounted.. yada yada...)
oh and your 48c load @ 1.65v impossible on air... i say it again.. impossible.. not unless you have a/c blowing right smack on it. and then even that would be hard pressed to see it go that low.
1.65v is ALOT of heat coming of these conroes.

    Ambient is 72F

    No AC.

I am hitting some odd FSB wall @ 420, I will try playing with it more

I have this mounted in my V2000.

60mm 5000rpm fan on northbridge (remounted with only AS Ceramique)
    120x38mm delta ~100cfm blowing across/under TT BT.
120x38mm Danyo Denki on TT BT.

Lestat, if you dont have any useful information to add to this thread get the OUT... I'm fairly sure people are getting sick and tired of you ing and complaining in their threads.

you could also try all stock voltages except vcore and vmch (1.6-1.65v)

and since when do we trust on board thermal sensors anyway? i second Jason's notion

Maybe you could use the Intel Thermal Analysis Tool to show us some load temps... http://anonforums.com/builds/TAT.zip

Use CoreTemp or TAT to measure your temp and come back with the results....

AsusProbe II tends to be 14 degrees cooler here. My 6600 hits 3.6 at 1.48 Vcore, the problem is my Ninja just can't keep up, making it unstable. CoreTemp reports something like 48 idle and 68 or higher load, iirc, while Asus probe shows happy 54.

    BS.

In 3d Mark 06, my processor's internal thermal throttle already kicks in the 1st test, as fps drop to 9 instead of 22-25. I get better results at 3Ghz on stock voltage than at 3.6. Lol

It just beeps at me and closes, the Heatpipes on the Typhoon are not even warm to the touch, so I would tend to agree with these temps.

I saw ~50 something loaded with my FX60 @ 1.6v, I cant imagine this using more power than that LOL!

I am running the 004 bios, and I have been getting odd values in it, so I do not trust it...

I am sure this isnt running over 50c, the Typhoon isnt really even warm to the touch, and my mount is spot on.

More voltage just really does not help much after 1.5v, there is rather huge diminishing returns here.

Dual 32m failed @ loop 7 or so at the above picture, I am sure that heat is not a problem and I am just running into what the CPU does on air.

Dual 32m on air isnt easy at these speeds. I do not know what is holding me back, but I am happy with my results.

My next steps will be running 3dmark @ these speeds, but it easily passes 32m @ 3700+ so 3d will pass.

I've been scared to put that kinda volts on my L24 Step 5 6600. Right now its about to pass 12hours of orthos 1.5vcore set in bios for 1.46-1.48vcore load. FSB=356 so cpu = 3.2ghz. Since a lot of us seem to be stuck @ 356FSB 3.2ghz with the p5W DH motherboard, I'm gonna try it on the msi over the weekend. I'll won't be happy until I get 3.6ghz 1.5vcore.

Nah, I can run 3DMark06 @ 3.6ghz with 1.65vcore set in bios for 1.60-1.62vcore @ load. I'm not interested in 3DMark stability. I'm looking for a 3.4-3.6ghz @reasonable volts everday overclock. For 3DMark Suicide runs I'd want nothing less than 3.8ghz. I'm gonna prove its the Asus board holding our chips back so we can all write & complain and maybe they will make some bios improvements. If not we will all jump ship

How many volts do you need to dual prime at 3.6? Just curious

i know not everybody likes prime, but i run a quick dual prime for 30 minutes as my standard stability test.

3.6 Ghz with E6600 and E6700 is becoming a compare point in my mind because so many people post results at that speed.

I will post up tomorrow, I think I found what is holding me back....

The ICH7R raid! I was trying to get some 417*9 runs in, and it just wasnt working out, I would get all the way though HDtach, and it would freeze at the end.

412 FSB is stone stable though, I guess 3.7GB/sec burst HDD speed has a drawback or two

    Raid 0 4*320gb 7200.10

    Raid5 4*320gb 7200.10

However, It could just be clockgen that is giving me problems, and that would not suprise me.

I might try booting @ higher speeds tomorrow. I have been booting @ 401fsb and using clockgen to get 412-420.
