A beautiful site indeed. 500fsb 1:1 3-D stable w/SLI (official support coming soon) on the less expesive 965 chipset, although the Asus version has a "deluxe" price. What a great choice for mobo in a robust gaming system.

Yeah but the performance sucks... due to the 4x slot or old drivers maybe?

And I wouldn't hold your breath for SLI support on Intel 965/975...

Don't see any references to it outside of marketing/sales guys right now, but'll I'll keep looking for quotes that say more than "looking for more chance to cooperate". Nvidia locking out Intel (except when using a Nvidia chipsest) would seem to be short-sighted, hence my optimism. Hopefully 975x is on the table

Thanks for reminding me about the 4x lane though. That big slash of cold water woke me right up. Still looks like 975x and hacked drivers for the SLI.

Yeah, I really hope someone manages to make some nice hacked 91.36 x64 drivers... would give me a great reason to get a second 7900GT

I don't think it's because of the 2nd PCIe being "4x" only, but the limitation of the chipset. I am thinking the 4x lane came from the six(6) PCie x1 terminated at the SB instead of the 4x termination at the NB like the i955 (iirc). i975 have two(2) 8x PCIe lanes terminated at the NB so performance doesn't suffer as much like the pseudo secondary PCie x16 physical (4x electrical) lane.

Hmmm ... only 18-19% increase in '06 and '05 going from single card to SLI.
