    ATI RD600 Chipset-DFI LANParty UT ICFX3200 T2R/G First Look

Since the second half year of 2006, due to Core 2 Duo, Intel platform
becomes the focus in enthusiast group again. Besides 975X chipset,
Intel also launched P965 chipset to enhance its product line.

On the other hand, NVIDIA released NF590 Intel edition this year.
But the performance and OC ability of it is not as good as prospect.
Then, they launched the brand new 6 series to backup the Intel platform

At this moment, except RD580 for AM2, ATI still has a “Final solution” for Intel platform~RD600(ICFX3200)

This time, I have DFI’s LANParty UT ICFX3200 T2R/G in hand.
The board adopts ATI’s RD600; also this is a real high-end LP product of DFI after a long time.

The package of the board is totally different from the past one,
The cartoon illustration is unique style of LANParty product.
I think the red color is represent ATI’s logo color.

    The accessories from the package;
Wow, super-thick user menu, driver disc, IO shield and cables…

    DFI LANParty UT ICFX3200 T2R/G
    Motherboard appearance

A view of board’s lower left: a built-in debug light, chip of Dual gigabit LAN,
a future standard of VGA solution~ 3 slots of PCIe, and 3 traditional PCI

A view of board’s lower right:
    Built-in Power/ Reset onboard button,
Southbridge SB600 supports 4 SATAII ports, and RAID 0/1, 0+1 compatible
Promise PDC40719 RAID chip, also supports 4 SATAII ports, RAID 0/ 1/ 0+1, 5 compatible

A view of board’s upper right:
    4 x DIMM for memory,
24 pin power plug and a IDE device.

A view of board’s upper left:
6 phase digital PWM, more stable power supply
and a better space-saving for a huge-size CPU cooling fan.

    I/O components

The temperature of ATI chipset is lower than Intel/ NVIDIA,
Due to North bridge uses a LP exclusive heat sink

A fancy LANParty case modding sticker, and a quick installation guide.

A supreme High-end/ OC motherboard, should work with a supreme high performance DDRII memory:
    CORSAIR Dominator TWIN2x2048-8888C4DF

    A cute pinky “starting screen”

the detail of BIOS selection be coming soon..

Any comparison to 975X on pi 32m without tweaks?
When Mercedes brought their C111 to Talledega years ago and blew away the closed course record did it count? Yes..
That was a "factory" car and a "one of" that no one could buy and was never sold.
Records are records and that is a fact so get over it.

whats wrong with just two SATA cables? like people here dont have a box full of twenty laying around somewhere?

The people that dont are the poeople that dont use more then 2 sata drives. not only that SATA cables are cheap anyways.

these are not final retail boards, DFI has already stated that the boards being reviewed now are not final.

so take that for what its worth when looking at reviews.
less than a dozen boards were sent out for review specifying they were not final.
pretty darn close but not 100% final

and you guys reviewing these boards need to stipulate this when posting pre-final reviews.

im not trying to take away from WWM's always fun reviews i just think its important to note that DFI themselves said these are not Final boards. and WWM need to denote this in his review if at all possible

What else could they change this late in the game other than the BIOS?

Tony has specifically said these are final PCB's.

Could you please link to where DFi said these weren't final?

Obviously they could be changing the bios, but that almost always happens on the review samples. The PCB and components should not be changing one bit.

Sweet pics and screen shots WWM...how do you actaully "like" the board compared to other offerings? Forget performance. I just want to know if you like what you see and feel comfy working with it...
When it's good it's really good...And when it's bad I go to pieces...
